Mei's favorite pastime: collecting.
For some special items, if people don't know exactly how many there are, they won't have the urge to collect them all.
Only when such items have a specific number, and you have the ability to gather them, will most people choose to collect them all.
Mei is this type of person.
This obelisk has four sides.
One side recorded information about the collected objects. What about the other three sides?
Mei went to another side. The content on it was indeed different.
"This is the Dagon's encyclopedia of incantations. Interesting. I'll take a picture and remember this."
Mei took out her phone and took a photo of this side of the obelisk. Then, she went to another side.
This side listed different types of monsters. There were many, including the Deep Ones, Dagon, and others.
It also recorded some monsters that could be summoned, like Ancient Ones, Shoggoths, Ghouls, Byakhees, Nightgaunts…
"Creating a monster, then creating a dozen different types of monsters. Are these considered bonus items?"
"That's fine. I'll catch a few to supplement my material reserves."
Since the three sides corresponded to collected objects, incantations, and monsters, then what does this last side record?
Mei looked at the last side with anticipation. But on the last side of the obelisk, there was only a single line:
[Lower Great Old Ones · Dagon]
"Dagon?"
Mei seemed to understand something. If her guess was right, the last side displayed the name of the Great Old One.
And the term "Lower Great Old One" obviously refers to the current 002.
It's clear that the current 002's form and abilities haven't reached the true Great Old One level yet.
Just like the name displayed on this obelisk.
002 isn't Cthulhu, he's Dagon.
Thinking about it, 002 was originally a Deep One. When he evolves, he'll either become Dagon or Hydra.
In the settings, these two are considered followers of the ocean Great Old Ones, the lowest level of Great Old One.
Although many of 002's current characteristics are similar to Cthulhu, he still hasn't reached that level.
"But following this logic, should I create a Hydra?"
Since there's a father god, should I also create a mother god?
"If I remember correctly, 002 had a female classmate before."
Mei swirled the sickle in her hand. Aside from this obelisk, there was only one large stone statue in the hall.
That stone statue was of a giant monster. It stood on a pillar.
No need to think, it was 002's stone statue.
"Looking at this, it really doesn't resemble a giant octopus.
However, is this hall, with just this one statue and an obelisk, a little too empty?
Mei looked at the ground. There was a large fish pattern on the ground in front of 002's statue.
Seeing this, Mei suddenly realized something. "So much space, is it that for each monster I create with the concept of Great Old Ones, there will be a statue here?"
Mei thought it was very possible. After all, this temple appeared out of nowhere. A few statues wouldn't make much difference.
Mei didn't notice that there was a table in front of 002's statue. Originally, there should have been a trident placed on it.
And in the story, that trident is the key to sealing Dagon. After it was removed, all the monsters in the sea escaped.
But Mei wasn't interested in this story. It was just some insignificant side story.
She turned and started to head back. Mei, when passing Adam's corpse, casually picked up the Treasure Map and the ghost ship.
Then she went to Ye Long's corpse and picked up the Golden Trident.
Three more Ancient Artifacts in hand.
She tossed the three Ancient Artifacts into the crack space.
And because of her action, Chino under the deep sea suddenly opened his eyes.
He felt like some kind of mysterious shackle had suddenly vanished.
This strange feeling must have a cause. Something that threatened him had been eliminated!
The Golden Trident, the key to sealing Dagon, was taken out of this world.
Mei didn't know this, she simply took it as an ordinary Ancient Artifact.
Having done this, Mei was about to leave, when Ye Long's finger suddenly twitched.
"Hm?"
Could it be?
Did it work?
Mei, seeing this, took out a vial of potion, grabbed Ye Long's neck, opened his mouth, and poured the potion into his mouth.
After this, Ye Long didn't move.
While Mei was waiting to see the result, bloody eyes suddenly opened on the surrounding walls!
They extended their tentacles and instantly attacked Mei, but Mei simply gave them a glance, and the tentacles withered and retreated.
Dangerous!
Extremely dangerous!
Mei waved her hand and tore off a thick fateline formed from countless intertwined lifelines. "A building also has a lifeline? Theoretically, the Old One's Temple is alive."
"So, should I cut it and see?"
Mei raised her sickle, preparing to cut the Old One's Temple's lifeline!
All the eyes on the walls began to tremble at this moment. Countless voices came from all directions, echoing in Mei's ears!
"Stop!"
"Don't!"
Mei chuckled. She lowered her sickle and turned to look at the wall. Actually, she didn't intend to cut it.
After all, he still wanted to see if there would be any changes if he created another Great Old One.
"Tell me, what are you?"
The voice came again. "We are… those who are different…"
"…We are guardians."
Then, the eyes on the wall started to emerge. Soon, faces appeared on the walls.
These faces were covered in blood. Their features were all different.
"Those who are different, guardians. Guardians of what?"
The countless faces on the walls said in unison, "We guard the secrets of the ancient Great Old Ones, until they awaken. This is our destiny." xN
Mei twirled the sickle in her hand. "So, what do you think I am? An Outer God, or something else?"
Hearing this, all the faces showed terrified expressions.
"It is…"
"The nameless mist, billions of rays of light, the master of wisdom, the unifier of all things, Yog-Sothoth…"
"It is…"
"The crawling chaos, the wriggling darkness, the god of a thousand faces, Nyarlathotep…"
"It is…"
"The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young, Shub-Niggurath…"
These are the three pillar gods corresponding to chaos, darkness, and the nameless mist.
"No, you're all wrong. She is the Blind Idiot God, the core of primordial chaos, the master of all things, Azathoth!"
"No, she must be a being born from the nameless mist. She must be Yog-Sothoth!"
"You're talking nonsense! Even if all the Old Ones awaken, she can only be Azathoth!"
"It's the mother of the Black Goat of the Woods, Shub-Niggurath! I saw it, I really did!"
"Get out of here!"
"You'll be eating at the kids' table from now on!"
"I'm the one who really saw it! She's Nyarlathotep!"
"You'll be at the kids' table too!"
For some reason, these different faces suddenly started arguing.
Their faces turned red, arguing endlessly, like children each with their own opinion.
Mei shook her head. They really are each unique, with different opinions, and no one can convince anyone else.
She glanced at Ye Long on the ground, then left.
Before leaving, she didn't forget to add, "Take care of this person. Don't let him die."
The faces quickly responded,
"Yes, Lord Yog-Sothoth!"
"Don't worry, Lord Nyarlathotep!"
"No problem, Lord Niggurath!"
"How many times do I have to say it, it's Azathoth, Azathoth!"
Mei shook her head as she tore open a fissure and left the Old One's Temple.
