Chapter 4 - Disappear

"Oh, I'm tired, but I'll take care of all this later and thank you for helping me by being there and replacing Jackson at the wedding earlier." Sherina breathed out, feeling clearly exhausted from the day she had gone through.

"Now let's just rest; you don't need to worry. I'll take care of everything as soon as possible so that you can be free and do whatever you want without being involved in any relationship with me."

Furrowing his brow, Demian looked at Sherina with a questioning gaze. "What are you going to take care of so soon?"

"Our marriage issue."

"What do you mean?" Demian focused his gaze on Sherina. "Are you suggesting that you want to end what we just started?"

Not objecting to anything, Sherina immediately nodded. "Yes, don't worry. I won't make anyone's life difficult because of me."

"I never asked you to end what we just started, even though it wasn't part of the plan."

This time, Sherina didn't understand what Demian meant, so she looked at Demian seriously. "What do you mean? Do you intend to continue this marriage or do you consider our marriage a serious one?"

"Am I wrong in assuming that I do consider it that way?" Demian asked back without shifting his gaze.

After a moment, Sherina observed Demian, who was now only wearing a shirt. She focused her gaze on Demian's eyes, and unfortunately, after a few moments of looking into Demian's eyes, she began to feel an unusual sensation in her heart.

"Ah, forget it, it's fine. Now I feel very tired; I want to rest and change into clothes that make me feel more comfortable." At that moment, Sherina quickly walked away from Demian, who didn't shift his gaze at all.

A devilish smile was clearly visible on Demian's lips; he recalled the beginning of his meeting with Sherina until their marriage united them.

"Who would allow you to leave just like that?" Demian shook his head; he felt that he wouldn't let Sherina leave his life.

After removing her wedding dress, Sherina began to remove the hairpins in her hair. She felt dizzy and wanted to wash her hair to lighten the burden on her mind.

"Ssh ah!" Sherina screamed loudly when her hand was pricked by a hairpin.

Crash!

"Ow!" Sherina screamed again as she accidentally bumped into a glass, causing it to break on the floor.

"Why did it have to break? It's a hassle to clean up!"

Feeling annoyed, Sherina started picking up the glass shards, collecting them at the edge. "Ah! It hurts!" Sherina screamed again, even louder this time.

"Are you okay?"

Demian hurriedly stepped to find where Sherina was; he had been in the bathroom before and didn't hear Sherina's previous screams. He was surprised when he saw the broken glass.

"What happened?" Demian was puzzled when he saw the broken glass on the floor, but his expression suddenly changed to a more intense one when he saw Sherina's bloody hand.

Sherina's gaze focused on how Demian was breathing; he seemed to be sniffing an unpleasant smell, but Sherina hadn't noticed any strange smell the whole time.

"My hand hurts and is bleeding, but you're just watching me without doing anything?" Sherina felt irritated, waving her hand, causing the blood to splatter on the floor, making it dirty.

"If you just want to stand there, don't come here!"

Demian's reverie was broken, and then he continued his steps. He gently took Sherina's hand and saw fresh blood, which made his eyes light up with enthusiasm for Sherina's blood.

"Sh! It hurts!" Sherina winced as Demian sucked the blood from the wound, although shortly after there was no more blood on her hand, but Sherina still felt the stinging sensation, as Demian repeated the action.

"You're gross! Don't swallow the blood! You can't just lick the blood!"

Ignoring what Sherina said, because the most important thing now was that the dizziness had disappeared, and Demian felt much more energetic than before.

"Don't do it here; you might get hurt again." Demian immediately carried Sherina to the bed and slowly lowered her down.

Demian walked away, leaving Sherina puzzled, but not long after, Demian returned with a glass of water, which he handed to Sherina, even helping her drink.

"Do you need to treat the wound?" Demian asked.

"No, thank you," Sherina declined. "I want to sleep now." She didn't know why she suddenly felt so dizzy and wanted to rest immediately.

"Alright then." Demian helped Sherina get into a more comfortable sleeping position, even pulling the blanket to cover her.

Before Sherina fell asleep, she remembered something, and then Sherina opened her eyes with a gaze that surprised Demian.

"What's wrong?" Demian asked.

"Nothing, I just want to say that I don't want to do anything tonight." Sherina's tone was slightly nervous; she felt a bit embarrassed to bring this up, but she felt that she had to inform Demian.

"I think there's no need to explain to you what I don't want to do tonight, right?" Sherina looked at Demian very seriously. "You are free to sleep anywhere, even if you want to be next to me, just don't touch me!" Sherina warned, receiving a nod from Demian.

"Alright, now you can sleep."

"Yes, I will sleep now!"

Demian truly watched over Sherina until she fell asleep, and he carved a small smile, then wiped the corner of his lips with his finger, still feeling a little of Sherina's blood, until his eyes lit up again.

****

The midnight felt so warm for Sherina, even making her wake up from her sleep to adjust the temperature of the air conditioner in her room, but after that... Sherina realized that Demian was not in the room.

Feeling curious about where Demian was, Sherina started to look for him. "Why isn't he here? When did he leave?" Sherina felt confused, and then she noticed that the hotel room window was open.

Sherina observed the view outside, where the air still felt unpleasant. "Why did he disappear in the middle of the night?" Sherina continued to ponder where Demian could be.

"Why do I care about him? Isn't he a stranger in my life?" Sherina's indifference made her return to her bed; she wanted to continue sleeping because she still felt sleepy.

After a few minutes, Sherina opened her eyes with a high feeling of annoyance. "Darn! Why do I keep thinking about where he is now?"Feeling irritated, Sherina ran her fingers through her hair and then grabbed her phone to call Demian.

"Where should I contact him? I don't have his phone number, do I? Argh! Darn it!" Sherina cursed after realizing that she didn't know anything about Demian, except his name.

"What kind of person goes out in the middle of the night like this?" Sherina sighed in frustration, and the image of Demian licking his wound reappeared in her mind, especially the incident where Demian sucked the wound on his hand due to the broken glass.

"Could it be that he's not a human?" A sudden suspicion about which Demian was emerged in Sherina's mind.
