Chapter 26 - The Taste of Death

Winter of 1889, the busy city of Turin is witnessing something out of hand. The folks of the street as well as the two city police cannot fathom what this certain man were doing.

The lashing sound of whips were heard as a frail domestic horse is being pinned downed by it. A certain guy who's not in his usual mind runs and hugs the slighted mammal in front him. Shouts and wails heard from his mouth in which showing his empathies to frail animal.

The man appearing in his late 40's, suffering from neurosyphilis, burdened by dementia, runned in the hands of impending state of catatonia. With a shrouded voice and a mix of mental illness, he uttered the words, "I understand you, I understand you."

In a complete state of weakness, held by unnecessary compassion, and putting himself in the shoes of a lowly being.

That's how the once genius and agnostic being of the world spend the final years of his life after the periods of his youth that isn't much as easy as to where he would soon go.

Friedrich Nietzsche, the same guy who pushed the limitations of what a human being could be. The same guy who declared that "God is dead" and added that "and we killed him with our own hands."

Who swayed away the theological ideologies in whom he regard as the main reason why people falls into weakness and despair.

Who created the entirely new cure for the whole existential crisis that have been ravaging the members of the society in all walks of life.

It's the same guy in whose works become a Kindle to the devastative ideologies of the dictators of the 20th century.

It's the same guy who completely turned his ways and became hypocrite in his own words for showing the intrinsic nature of emotions a human being should have.

Even though it is the effects of his ongoing battle with his only friend, his very own mind, or even the punishment brought by his past mistakes who came to finally bite his ass off. It's still a saddening fact that the once radical philosopher have collapsed by the weight of his own genius.

Reminding himself of this mind numbing story, he soon realize the cost of his own actions and how far can he really put his faith in his very own intelligence.

The man with a messy dark brown hair, a crystal brown speck in his eyes, wearing a white blazer suit over a white polo with a black necktie, black trouser slacks and fine shined black shoes. The guy who trusted his own decisions in as far as confronting the ways of a deceased companion. The same guy who doesn't have any considerations for what means it would take to just get the ends of it. The one who views his own life as not having any value that he would waste it multiple times without any thought that maybe it would be his last.

That guy is sitting in a hardwood chair with cuffs and locks in his limbs. Streams of wires and apparatuses connected into his veins even though he is not in a state of hospitalization, although his mind have already gave up from within.

"How long has it been?", he uttered while his head plopping down and a few spots under his eyes can be seen. His voice is rather asthenic than before, his arrogant expression have fade away with his own ego.

The only thing in his mind is freedom. But does that really makes a man liberated if his own actions make him fall into great captivation by his own wits

"I'm pleased to meet you, Kiriyama-senpai," a short haired girl says to him, but there's two of them so the one with white tint I guess.

"Although it's our first time actually meeting, it's been a long time I've been seeing you," she added.

His reaction? Nothing to be praised since it has happened for many times now so he doesn't know what an appropriate gesture he should show. Probably the unbearable pain of sitting in an hardwood chair for a long time with being tied up making him useless for movements.

Or is it because the agonizing suffering he've pass through after the failed attempts of escape the made him doubt his own judgements, not to mention the hella excruciating taste of death in various ways during his stay in the twin's jurisdiction.

"What's the problem, Senpai? You're very low today, you look like not very energetic with us like before when it's only the two of us, Senpai." Shirumi tries to bring up his mood upon meeting Kurumi.

"Uh... How many does it make today again, huh?", he sighed in a gloomy voice. Looking up his limp head into the pretty face of Kurumi in front of him while she gropes her chin.

"Ow, ow, Ow," he mumbles as if he felt something itchy contracted his neck.

"Hmm? What's wrong, Master Kiriyama? Perhaps you've reached your limit and your stomach is waiting for my pleasurable fine dining?"

The brazen eyes filled with brimming passion but with a mix of laid back expression shone through his vision as it reflects from the very own irises of Kurumi.

In his own discernment, what is there is not a sparkling lenses of the beautiful lady but a fringing, corrupted shade covering her eyes. Not mixed through reality, his own vision starts to turn its back from him.

The very own perspective of him that he trusted for more than 17 years begins to faze out with a final sight of brimming into the white haired girl's face yet he cannot as if something cannot be allowed for him to lay his corrupted eyes.

If only he could only untangle both his hands, the first thing he wants to do is to feel the sensation of his neck, his own throat.

The way he look back through his past life is that how his very own eyes saw his body upside down after a small quarrel with the sadistic twins. How pinch of slight it takes to trigger their temper yet although they resort to many types of violence, the two still insist the righteousness of their deeds as a necessary thing for their love to grow.

"The 32nd time is as brutal as I thought it would be, huh? Now I wonder what will happen next." After many couple of times he experienced death, the fear of facing have gone numb that he have grown from it.

"Hahaha, Ow, Ow, Ow, aahhhh... Time for next plan to be grind."

"What do you wish for, Master Kiriyama? We will give you everything in exchange for your stay here," Kurumi uttered while the veil in front of his vision covering the girl's eyes fades into thin air.

In a sudden change of atmosphere, he decided to trust his own judgements for the last time and if it fails, he shall say goodbye from his sanity, far more worse than death itself.

"Curry, curry rice... Give me curry rice," he uttered looking for something to eat. Luckily for him, he could expect a quality food from the twins.

"Is that only what you want, Senpai?", the girl above him uttered.

"Just give me curry already!", he flustered in which his voice got too loud signalling the final state of his sanity.

"Haaaah! How sweet you are, Master Kiriyama. I'll gladly feed you everyday for the rest of our lives from now on," Kurumi says with a tone of pleasure in her voice.

The white haired girl stood up from her crouching position after releasing her hands from Toby's chin. She turn her back and moves forward to the closed door to the way outside.

"Always remember Master Kiriyama that we love you from our hearts and we will not let you go away from now on to eternity,"

Kurumi utters while leaning back to him with her finger tapping her lips.

"Wait for me, Nee-san." Shirumi removes her grip on Toby and followed through her sister to prepare the meal that Toby wanted.

*thump

The door's shut and the girls are on the opposite side of the wall preparing a warm meal for their beloved.

"So they really are human after all, I guess," Toby uttered while still sitting on an electric chair, alone just like the first time.

He wriggles his arms again but this time he have a shrouded plan. Binding only his wrist only would still give him a chance to move his filthy fingers and reach for something that would free him straight away.

10 seconds it took and then...

"Ahhh, finally I got it out after 32 attempts," he sighed of relief to feel his very own hands appear right in front of him.

"Forcing her to come into me was not a very easy job that it took many times to do."

Apparently, this time he managed to sneak his finger into Shirumi's pocket while she's standing in his back, although he actually enjoyed a warm hug from her. He slipped his hand and managed to stole the key out of her while not being noticed off-handed. Actually, it's 5th try since all the previous attempts ended into disaster or disappointment, I don't want to illustrate it to you further since it involves cultural things.

"But this doesn't change the fact that I'm still lock in this chair by this clips so this could be my next target." With his fresh new hands, he starts to bang the lock in his leg in attempt to broke it just like a normal wood.

"What the fuck!", he's shock the same as I do since he luckily broke off the lock covering his limb making him the most happiest man alive, actually I'm exaggerating since he gave off a small grin in his face to show his gratitude for making his plan a success.

"So basically this key can unlock both the locks. Do you know how much suffering it cost for me to go through and you're just actually here! Few inches away from my butt?", he's basically a lunatic now since he starts to let out his frustrations to the sought out key.

"Uhm... Hoooo! Finally I can do some stretching after many days sitting in here although maybe a day haven't passed yet."

He stand up from the chair and starts to move his body from side to side, being thankful that he could walk again with his own feet. Actually he could do that if he have patiently wait for the girls to come and become their slave but he's not that type of guy.

Approching the door where the twin's head out for the first time is quite a new sensation for him.

"I'm still wondering what do they want from me for them to go that crazy just to imprison me here," his internal monologue.

"I don't have any remembrance of meeting them in the past so there's no reason for them to cling to me. Is this what they call 'love at first sight'? How cringe that term is so probably that leaves the option that there's an anomaly behind this."

His Sherlock Holmes instincts came back but actually not.

A bronze plated knob is at his grasp while the white colored door is at his front. One turn to the side means his freedom but actually he should not fear the room he's been through but the one's who forced him to get into is in the other side of the wall.

"Is this really the right thing to do?", he asked to himself.

2 minutes have passed.

"Senpai, here's your warm meal. Enjoy it with all your hearts," the black haired girl says after emerging out the door with a freshly served cooked curry rice in her hands.

"Master Kiriyama, how did you!" A white haired girl emerged out also from the other side.

"How did you manage to get that off!"

She's shock to see Toby back in the hardwood chair with his hands clasped with each other and his left leg leaning over his right leg.

"Actually, it's much easier than you think it is," he uttered with confidence and a smug in his face.
