After leaving the group of ugly, annoying witches, Xavier walked slowly beside Carla, who kept a cold look on her face. Her black hair swayed gorgeously as she took gentle strides forward.
"AHHHHH!"
A loud, bone-chilling cry resounded from the direction they were approaching, causing even Carla to flinch in fear. The voice was clearly a female's, definitely one of the witches.
"What was that scream?" Xavier asked with a frown.
If it had been a man's voice, Xavier wouldn't have been surprised. The cries of men undergoing painful experiments and tortures by the witches had become a frequent occurrence. But now, hearing a witch's scream made him wonder what was happening.
"This is bad," Carla voiced, her usual cold demeanor cracking slightly. Even she found the cry of a witch strange.
Without further explanation, she began sprinting toward the source of the scream, leaving Xavier behind.
