Alexander's POV
Alexander spent the remainder of the day laying in bed with Stephanie, and well doing... other things. The doctor had come by telling him to take it easy and skip work for a bit if he could. Also to report to the hospital if he doesn't feel better.
"What made you collapse anyway?" Stephanie asked, lying in his chest. It was really a mix of everything: Stephanie leaving him, the guilt he felt being the reason she was kidnapped, and the death of his grandfather crowned it all. He couldn't sleep or eat. He didn't want to do anything. He had only work to distract him, and he immersed himself in that.
He explained this to her the best way he could, and she hugged him again, apologizing for the loss of his grandfather. It wasn't her fault, but it didn't stop her from saying sorry. He's not sure he has truly come to terms with the fact that the man is gone.
