Rowena, still crawling all over Ember's back, seemed to find her new favourite toy. The dragon was remarkably tolerant, letting her tug at his wings and pat his scales with tiny, chubby hands. Seraphine was still sulking beside me, arms crossed over her chest, a petulant frown on her face.
"Of all the creatures in this castle, she chooses to say his name first," Seraphine grumbled under her breath. I tried to stifle my giggles, but seeing Seraphine, the fierce demon queen, pouting like a child was too adorable.
"She's just taken with him," I teased, nudging her gently. "I mean, Ember does have a certain charm."
Seraphine's eyes narrowed, flicking toward the dragon who was currently allowing both Rowena and Rhiannon to play with his tail. "Well, he's certainly not helping them learn 'mummy' or 'mama,' is he?" she huffed. "He's just lounging around being adored like some kind of scaly prince."
