Chapter 147 - Wish

The night air was cool against my skin as we stepped into the garden, the sounds of the feast still echoing softly from the grand hall behind us.

The sky stretched above, clear and deep, with stars scattered like diamonds across the vast expanse. It was the perfect night for the lantern release, a tradition Seraphine had wanted to share with me for a long time.

Seraphine walked ahead, her hand still entwined with mine, guiding me toward the stone path that led to the open clearing at the edge of the garden.

There, set against the backdrop of the darkened sky, were dozens of delicate paper lanterns. Their soft golden glow illuminated the scene, casting a gentle light on the surrounding trees and flowers. 

I stopped for a moment, taking it all in the beauty of the lanterns, the stillness of the night, the warmth of Seraphine's hand in mine. It felt magical, like something out of a dream.
