We finished our meal, both of us feeling more relaxed and full. Seraphine leaned back in her chair, stretching luxuriously with a contented sigh. "That hit the spot," she said, patting her stomach. "I could get used to meals like this."
I laughed, leaning back in my own chair. "Don't get too comfortable. We still have a lot of work ahead of us."
Seraphine winked. "Oh, I'm not worried. We'll handle it like we always do. But for now, I think we deserve a little break."
As if on cue, a servant entered the dining hall, carrying a tray of pastries. "Dessert, ladies?" he asked, setting the tray down in front of us.
Seraphine's eyes lit up. "Don't mind if I do," she said, grabbing a pastry and taking a big bite. A satisfied moan escaped her lips as she savored the sweet treat.
I couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. "You really have a sweet tooth, don't you?"
