We regrouped, breathing heavily, our eyes fixed on the two remaining demons. Their monstrous forms seemed even more intimidating now, with black blood dripping from the wounds we'd already inflicted. Seraphine, bloodied but unbroken, took a step forward, her sword held high.
"Let's finish this," she said, her voice a rallying cry.
The demons roared in response, their eyes glowing with malevolent fury. They charged at us, their massive forms tearing through the underbrush. We stood our ground, ready to meet their assault head-on.
The first demon reached us, its claws swinging down in a deadly arc. I dodged to the side, my sword slicing through its arm. The demon howled, its blood spraying out in a dark, acrid mist. Seraphine was right behind me, her sword a blur as she hacked at the demon's legs, trying to bring it down.
