The tension in the room was palpable as I stood there, determination etched on my face. I had just informed Mira of my decision to head to the nearest human guild to search for Riley, and I could see the concern in her eyes.
"I want to go alone," I declared, my voice firm and unyielding.
Mira's eyes widened in shock. "Seraphine, that's not safe! You can't go alone. What if something happens to you?"
I shook my head, resolute. "I need to do this by myself, Mira. Riley is out there, and I can't risk anyone else getting hurt. Besides, I'll be able to move more quickly and discreetly on my own."
Before Mira could respond, several of my soldiers entered the room, having overheard the conversation. Their faces were a mix of concern and determination.
