The rest of the morning passed quickly after my little moment with Ember. I wasn't exactly thrilled about being left alone, but with Ember's antics keeping me entertained, the hours drifted by before I even realised it.
When Seraphine and Ciara finally returned, I was sprawled out on one of the benches, trying not to think too much about how awkward the day had started.
"Looks like someone's been having a lazy morning," Seraphine teased, leaning down to kiss me on the forehead. Her smile was warm, but I could see a hint of tension in her eyes, probably still from whatever sister day activities Ciara had dragged her through.
"Don't pretend you're not jealous," I shot back, flashing her a grin. "I've been perfectly comfortable while you were out there... what, picking flowers and holding hands?"
Seraphine raised an eyebrow. "It was more like getting dragged through a mountain of stress. Ciara's wedding planning is... intense."
