Waking up to the faint creak of the door, I groaned, burying my face deeper into the pillow, hoping whoever it was would take the hint and leave.
Riley was still fast asleep beside me, her soft breaths steady and rhythmic, and the last thing I wanted was to disturb her. But, of course, that hope was short-lived.
"Seraphine," a familiar voice called out, far too cheerful for this early in the morning. "Wake up."
I didn't even bother opening my eyes. "Go away, Ciara."
"I'm not going anywhere," she replied with an audible smirk. I could hear the soft footsteps approaching the bed, and the distinct feeling of my blankets being yanked off me followed.
"Ciara!" I sat up with a start, blinking groggily. The cool air hit me instantly, making me shiver as I glared at her. She stood there, arms crossed and looking far too pleased with herself.
"You're impossible," I muttered, glancing back at Riley to make sure she was still asleep.
