Riley's question lingered in the air, stirring something within me that I hadn't quite expected. The idea of exploring more of the human realm was both daunting and intriguing.
The demon realm was my home, its dark, chaotic energy as familiar to me as the blood in my veins. Yet, the human realm, with its warmth, its light, and its myriad of cultures and people, was something I had only glimpsed. I looked at Riley, seeing the quiet hope in her eyes, and nodded.
"Yes," I said, my voice firm despite the uncertainty I felt. "I want to see more of this world. I want to understand what it was like for you, and what it means to you."
Riley's smile was small but genuine, a flicker of relief softening her features. She reached across the table, her hand finding mine, and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Then let's go," she said simply.
