Upon waking up together, Charlotte and I got dressed as she told me that she plans on taking me somewhere. I honestly feel like nothing had really changed much between us, but maybe I'll figure it out as we go. I'll just go with whatever Charlotte does, just like I have been doing.
"Ah, we probably don't need this, right?"
"Nn..." Charlotte says as she was about to pick up my mask.
If we're going out, normally I would have to wear a mask, but when we were at the hospital during that time, my mana was kept in check. Wait, but wouldn't be cause trouble if my mana flares up again?
"Actually, could you put this on me, Charlotte?"
"Huh?"
"I just... Don't want to accidentally kill someone." Quite strange coming from me. I killed all those people like it was nothing. I even remember feeling a slight sense of satisfaction when doing it as well. I kind of don't want to experience that feeling again...
"...You thinking back on that night?"
"Nn..."
"...Alright. We'll play it safe then."
Charlotte looked like she wanted to say something but ended up leaving it at that and instead gently put the mask back on me.
In the next few seconds, I feel my body growing weaker as I feel like it's getting harder to stand. it didn't take long for my knees to buckle, but Charlotte managed to catch me.
"Y-you okay?"
"I-I'm okay..."
"It has been a while since you worn it... Your body's probably adjusting to it again."
"Nn..."
It's strange. I didn't really notice it, but would this mean that my mana has been enhancing me? Is that how normal people feel? I wonder if criminal who were those handcuffs also feel like this...
After a bit of waiting though, I was able to stand back up on my own two feet as we made our way downstairs.
"I'm just gonna grab some blood packs for the road."
"Okay-"
"Oh good! You two are up!" But suddenly, Lisa comes out from the couch, rushing over towards us. "I got news!"
"News?" Charlotte questions her as she opens the fridge.
"You know that man that we captured?"
"Oh, right. I kinda forgot about that, haha."
"Well, the interrogation went nowhere, but we did manage to find out that he visited that avian you handled before a few years ago."
Avian... That was during that time when I was shot at, right?
"So you're saying that this group we fought recently is involved with Furor?"
"We don't know yet. That's as far as we got so far. It's a stretch, but it could be possible."
"I see..."
"Well anyways! How about we go out somewhere? All three of us!" In that instant, Lisa's eyes practically sparkle as she looks over at Charlotte.
"Are you sure? Didn't you have work today?" Charlotte says as she finishes drinking her blood pack.
"Fufu~ The General gave me the weekend off! So let's celebrate!"
Wait, so Lisa will also be coming with us? I couldn't help but smile at the thought. I've never seen Lisa this happy before. But when I look at Charlotte, she doesn't seem to be feeling the same way.
"Well... I was thinking of going out with Shiro."
"Perfect! So then I take it you're driving?"
"Haah~ Shiro."
"Yes?"
"Are you fine with this?" Charlotte asks that which seems to have piqued Lisa's interest as she looks over at me.
"Nn! If Lisa wants to come, then sure!"
"Hmm, So that's why she's wearing the mask again."
"Yup yup, so you coming? We're leaving now." Charlotte says while walking off to the door. I of course follow alongside her as Lisa fumbles around trying to collect her things.
Lisa managed to make it in time as we all got to the car together. However-
"Since Charlotte's driving, Shiro~ Come sit at the back with me."
"Huh?"
"Charlotte will be busy driving and I don't want to be all lonely at the back." Lonely? But we'll be still right next to each other. But if that's how she feels, then-
"Then you can sit at the front if you like, Lisa."
"Eh? No no no, I can't have 'you' being lonely instead."
"Hey, I have a good idea." It was then that Charlotte chimes in. "How 'bout you drive, Lisa?"
"What? But you know where you're going. I plan to just come along for the ride."
"Hahhh..." Charlotte sighs, not knowing what to say. I'm also lost in what to do. Aren't we all just going into the same car? I don't see what the problem is.
"...Okay! I have an idea!"
It was then that we finally got into the car. However it wasn't like I expected...
For one, the backseat was empty as all three of us are sitting in the front, but as for me, It'd be more accurate to say that I'm sitting on Lisa rather than the seat.
"Haha! This reminds me when you were little, Charlotte." Lisa says as she holds me in her arms like a makeshift seatbelt.
"This is a ridiculous idea... Can you even see? Shiro isn't a baby."
"Fufu, but Shiro doesn't mind, right?"
"Nn... Not really." It actually feels a bit nice. With the added height with Lisa's thighs, I can see more outside the windows. Although trying to see the sky has now become a bit more difficult...
"Alright. Let's get going then." Charlotte, turning her eyes back to the front, starts the car as we finally venture off together.
