I wasn't too sure if this idea of mine would work out, but so far, Shiro seems to be enjoying the movie we're watching. I should've done this much earlier, but at least now maybe Shiro can learn something from this movie; specifically, romance.
Thankfully, Shiro did ask questions that happened throughout the movie, mostly about why the characters in the movie were doing what they were doing and what certain words meant. I thought this would help, but Shiro still seemed a bit clueless. It was at that point that maybe putting on a children's cartoon or something would be better for her. I guess I'm just being a bit selfish with wanting Shiro to understand romance a bit faster. But this movie is quite captivating, and it's not strictly a romance. However...
"Hmm?" Shiro looks at the screen in confusion.
We're getting near the end of the story, and the main two characters finally express their love for each other with a kiss after the criminal comes so close to death. It's quite a lovely scene, even with how exaggerated it is. But maybe it's a good thing for it to be exaggerated as it seems like it has caught Shiro's attention.
"They... Kissed?"
"Mhmm."
"..."
Shiro goes silent as we continue to watch the movie. I was going to talk about it with her, but maybe we should do that when the movie ends.
And after ten more minutes, the credits finally start, making it the end of the movie.
"Well, how did you like it?"
"It was great! I really liked it. But I'm a bit confused on why they married. Wasn't he an enemy of the kingdom?"
"Well, yes, but the king and queen let him go. He did rescue the princess after all."
"Hmmm. But the princess and him were mad at each other for most of the movie..."
"I guess love works a little mysteriously, hehe."
It was a classic enemies become lovers film, with plenty of action in between. I can understand why Shiro is confused as she didn't pick up on the subtleties throughout the film that would hint at it.
"Love..."
"Mhmm. I think they started loving each other near the beginning."
"Wait, for real?!" She's too cute reacting this strongly.
"Fufu, yeah. Why would the princess want to learn more about him? Even asking for his real name?"
"Hmmm. I just thought she wanted to know if she was safe while she followed him back to the castle." Yeah, she only really saw the movie at a surface level.
"That might be true. I think I'd also want to learn more about my escort as well. But did you realize that she let her guard down around him after that?"
"...That's true. She didn't knock him out with a pan after that."
"Hehe, exactly. The distance between them also closed more and more, right?"
"So then, they loved each other all the way back then?"
"Hmmm, If you ask me, I think they fell in love at first sight."
"Really?!" I think I'm enjoying seeing Shiro's reaction now rather than the movie itself.
And so, our conversation about the movie continued on as we discussed many different aspects of the movie. I'm happy to know that Shiro enjoyed it that much.
"Hmm..."
"What's wrong?"
But as we moved back into the kitchen with Shiro now preparing me some blood tea, I notice that Shiro seems to be deep in thought about something.
"I think I understand what you and Lisa talked about."
"About?"
"With kissing and stuff. If that's how it's meant to be like in that movie, then I'm sorry."
Wait, don't tell me she remembered that celebration night when Shiro got drunk? Well, I'm glad to hear that Shiro has a better understanding of what love is like, but I also feel a bit bad after hearing her looking down, even going as far as to apologize...
"Don't be sorry, Shiro. You didn't know any better."
"But I made you feel uncomfortable." Well, I guess in a way she did, but it's not like I hated it.
"Hey, I kissed you as well that one time, remember?"
"Ah- right..."
"See? If I was uncomfortable with it, I wouldn't have done it."
"Wait, so then does that mean you see me in... 'That' way? like in that movie?"
"..." Oh god... I was not prepared for this! "Well, I did that to maybe help you think about something else at that time. So it was a different sort of kiss like in that movie."
"I see-"
"I'm back!~" Bursting through the front door, Lisa yelled out into this now awkward atmosphere. I end up breathing a small sigh of relief.
"How was work?" I direct my question to Lisa, letting Shiro focus on the tea. It's a coward move on my part, but I still need to figure all this out.
"Just some overseeing with a couple plans and also a bit of paper work. Nothing too crazy. What about you?"
"Shiro and I just finished watching a movie."
"Oooh?~ I see~" She immediately wears a smug smile on her face as she looks between both Shiro and I. I have a bad feeling... "Well, I'm glad you two had fun." Maybe not.
Lately I feel like Shiro's been on my mind more than ever. I'm starting to realize that maybe I've actually fallen for her, but Shiro likely still sees me as more of like a family member. Either way, I need to go at her pace. I think that's what's best right now.
"Lisa, did you want some tea?" Shiro, joining into the conversation, starts to grab a second cup.
"Oh! Yes please~ But no blood, haha."
"Okay."
With Lisa restoring the house back to how it was, after Shiro finishes with making the tea, we all sit down together as I slowly begin drinking Shiro's tea alongside Lisa. Just like yesterday, the taste is perfect, baiting me in to take another sip.
"It's delicious, Shiro."
"Th-thank you, Charlotte." Hmm? Wait, is she blushing?
"Mmm! ten out of ten, Shiro!"
"Fufu. Thanks Lisa." Or am I just seeing things...
