Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Immediate Wind

Xiao Ran stood in front of the elevator, a sneer on his lips. His gaze swept over the arrogant grandmother and grandson in front of him, and a strange emotion welled up in his heart. He understood that this was what was meant by "a person who is shameless is invincible," as they had perfectly demonstrated their shamelessness through their impudence and sophistry.

"Xiao Ran, why are you so unreasonable? It's just a kid, what's wrong with him taking your takeout?" Aunt Qin defended the bratty child while chastising Xiao Ran in a righteous tone. The brat hid behind her, his eyes darting around mischievously, seemingly brewing up another prank.

Xiao Ran's hand tightened slightly. He wanted to slap them, but his rationality told him not to. He took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and silently stepped into the elevator. He knew that he needed to deal with this pair in a smarter and more cunning way.

The elevator door slowly closed, separating Xiao Ran from the outside world. He closed his eyes and began to formulate a plan in his mind. He knew that he couldn't let them off easily; he needed to teach them a lesson in a way that would leave a lasting impression.

The elevator soon arrived at the first floor, and Xiao Ran stepped out. He heard Aunt Qin still bragging to the brat behind him, "Xiao Bao, see? He didn't dare say anything. Next time, take his takeout again. After all, he's rich, so it's okay to eat a little of his food."

Xiao Ran didn't turn back, but his lips curled into a sneer. He knew that the more they pushed their luck, the easier it would be for his plan to succeed. He walked out of the building and came to a nearby fruit shop. He picked out a pile of fresh fruits, thinking to himself, "This global disaster doesn't know how long it will last. I need to stock up on some fruits."

After paying for the fruits, he put them into a large bag. Then, he came to an unoccupied corner and took out a seemingly ordinary ring from his pocket. This was his secret weapon - a ring with an extra-dimensional space. He gently placed the fruits into the ring, and they immediately disappeared into the air.

When he got home, Xiao Ran took out an apple from the ring. He washed it and sat on the sofa to eat. As he munched on the apple, he pondered over his plan. He knew that he needed to wait for the right opportunity to put his plan into action.

A night passed, and a new day dawned. Xiao Ran got up early and went to an extremely luxurious restaurant. He ordered a takeout meal and specifically requested the most expensive and extravagant lunch. The waiter at the restaurant immediately prepared it for him after hearing his request.

Not long after, a delicious takeout meal was delivered to Xiao Ran's doorstep. When he opened it, he saw various gourmet dishes packed inside. Among them was a top-grade caviar that cost as much as 20,000 yuan, along with other precious ingredients and fine wines. The total price of this lunch amounted to 80,000 yuan!

Xiao Ran looked at the extravagant lunch with a satisfied gleam in his eyes. He knew that this meal was not only a reward for himself but also a provocation and showdown with the grandmother and grandson. He believed that they would soon appear in his sight again, and that was when he would unleash his plan...

Xiao Ran stood in front of the luxurious restaurant, feeling a slight sense of reluctance, but thinking about the special effects of the ingredients he had chosen today, he resolutely stepped in. This restaurant was known for its exquisite ingredients, with each dish crafted like a work of art. And the ingredients he had picked today were among the best, said to have aphrodisiac properties.

The restaurant manager looked at Xiao Ran with a hint of surprise. They knew he was a regular, but today he seemed different. The manager couldn't resist teasing, "Mr. Xiao, how many ladies did you invite today? With this choice of ingredients, don't overdo it and end up exhausted."

Xiao Ran chuckled and didn't say much, simply paying the eight thousand dollars without hesitation. He wrote down his address, keeping the receipt in mind that these ingredients would surely make tonight's gathering even more perfect.

After leaving the restaurant, Xiao Ran collected his usual orders for 100 tables and received a day's worth of deliveries. Despite the busyness, he felt unusually light-hearted. Returning to his neighborhood, he couldn't wait to share his joy with his friends.

Meanwhile, the situation at the Qin family was quite different. Encouraged by not being scolded for stealing delivery food yesterday, the mischievous child was even more brazen today. He kept an eye on Xiao Ran's delivery, waiting for the deliveryman to leave and then quickly snatched the extravagant food box and took it home.

Qin Da'ma was busy in the house and her face lit up when she saw the large food box being carried in by the mischievous child. Looking at the exquisite packaging, she felt a sense of satisfaction. Yesterday, Xiao Ran had the audacity to complain to the property management, just for taking your delivery? Really? Today, we'll eat your delivery again, as a lesson for you.

Qin Da'ye was somewhat hesitant, but seeing Qin Da'ma's determination, he didn't say much. Looking at the food box, he thought to himself, after all, this is someone else's delivery, is it really okay for us to eat it? But Qin Da'ma dismissed his concerns with a shrug, "He has so much money, what's the harm in us eating a little? Moreover, where does all that lottery money come from? Isn't it donated by ordinary people like us, one dollar at a time? So, this is ill-gotten wealth, why can't we enjoy it?"

Under Qin Da'ma's insistence, Qin Da'ye reluctantly agreed. They opened the food box and found eight compartments, each containing a delicately crafted dish. Lobster, abalone, sea cucumber... each item was mouth-watering. Qin Da'ma and Qin Da'ye couldn't help but drool as they looked at the spread.

The mischievous child was even more excited, grabbing a lobster and eagerly devouring it. He cheered while eating, "Wow, lobster! It's so delicious!" Qin Da'ma and Qin Da'ye were also infected by his enthusiasm and began to enjoy the gourmet feast. They chatted and laughed while eating, relishing this unexpected meal.

However, they were unaware that behind this meal lay an unknown story. Meanwhile, Xiao Ran was looking forward to tonight's gathering, hoping to share this joy and happiness with his friends.

"This must be worth quite a lot," Uncle Qin hesitated at the dining table, holding a piece of succulent grilled meat in his hand. His eyes flashed with greed, but then deep concern followed. He looked up at Aunt Qin, trying to find a trace of resolution in her expression.

After a moment of contemplation, Aunt Qin's face revealed a trace of disdain. She glanced at the delicious food on the table and then looked at her grandson, the mischievous but helpless little boy. She thought, "It's just a meal. How much trouble can it cause?"

"What's the big deal? It's just a few hundred bucks. Can he have the police arrest us?" Aunt Qin pursed her lips and said dismissively. She knew in her heart that this was just a small incident, and if they kept it quiet, no one would know.

Seeing her such firmness, Uncle Qin also stopped hesitating. He nodded and picked up his chopsticks, taking a piece of meat and putting it in his mouth. The delicious taste immediately filled his mouth, making him exclaim, "Ah, it's so delicious!"

Aunt Qin and the naughty boy also started eating. The three of them sat around the table, enjoying this unexpected feast. They ate and chatted, laughing continuously, as if they had forgotten about the hesitation and concern earlier.

"Grandma, can I go and take some more tomorrow?" The naughty boy asked eagerly, his mouth full of greasy food. His eyes sparkled with anticipation, as if he couldn't wait to taste such delicacy again.

"No problem," Aunt Qin patted his head affectionately and smiled. She knew in her heart that such an opportunity might not come again, but to satisfy her grandson's wish, she still agreed without hesitation.

However, they didn't realize that this meal was hiding a huge danger. Although Xiao Ran didn't come to ask for it for a while, it didn't mean that he had given up pursuing it. Moreover, the consequences of this meal were far beyond their imagination.

Not long after, Uncle Qin and Aunt Qin started to feel a burning sensation in their bodies. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with confusion and unease. They didn't know what was happening and could only guess that it might be the food. But they didn't realize that it was actually a punishment from Xiao Ran.

They asked their grandson to watch TV while they went into their room. Soon, strange noises came from the room. When Qin's son and daughter-in-law returned home, they saw Qin Kang watching TV alone in the living room, his eyes almost closed. They didn't know what had happened and just scolded Aunt Qin for not taking good care of their grandson.

However, when they pushed open the door to Aunt Qin and Uncle Qin's room, they saw a shocking scene. They immediately blushed and retreated, their hearts filled with confusion and terror. They didn't know what was happening and could only guess that it might be food poisoning or something else. But they didn't realize that it was actually a warning from Xiao Ran.

At that moment, Xiao Ran was standing on a distant high-rise building, coldly watching everything. He didn't intend to really pursue their responsibility; he just wanted to give them a lesson. He knew that such a punishment was enough. From now on, the Qin family would never dare to do such a thing again.

"Your parents, your parents—" The sound of Mrs. Qin echoed in the house, filled with panic and shame. Her words, like a stone thrown into a pond in this peaceful evening, caused ripples upon ripples. Qin Kang, a young man who usually watched TV leisurely in the living room, was startled by the sudden cry and his eyes widened.

"Son! Son! Call 120 quickly, your father has had an accident!" Mrs. Qin's voice became even more urgent, with a hint of sobbing. Qin Kang, the son of the Qin family, was completely confused and didn't know what had happened. He was filled with doubt as his father had always been physically robust and never had any health issues.

After hesitating for a while, Mrs. Qin finally managed to speak with difficulty: "Your father has been... stiff since the afternoon and just passed out!" Qin Kang couldn't believe his ears. His father, who was already over sixty, had encountered such an embarrassing situation. He felt a wave of dizziness and his heart was filled with mixed emotions.

Upon hearing the commotion, Qin Kang's wife also rushed out from the room. Her face still had a trace of redness, obviously startled by the sudden situation. She whispered in Qin Kang's ear, "I don't know what happened, your father suddenly... and then he passed out."

Qin Kang tightened his heart and quickly dialed the 120 emergency number. He anxiously waited for the arrival of the ambulance, constantly praying for his father's safety.

Soon, the ambulance arrived with a roaring sound. The medical staff quickly entered the house and put Mr. Qin on a stretcher. Mrs. Qin followed closely behind, her face filled with terror and helplessness. The medical staff carried Mr. and Mrs. Qin onto the ambulance together, both of them covered with thick blankets, but it was still faintly visible that they were naked.

This scene was witnessed by the neighbors, immediately causing a stir. The residents in the neighborhood started to gossip, some laughing, some sneering, and some sighing. The once quiet neighborhood became boisterous because of this unexpected incident.

"Ha-ha-ha, it's hilarious. The Qin couple had a problem while doing that and called 120 for a stroke." A young man laughed while talking to someone next to him.

"They're only around 30 years old, they shouldn't have a stroke yet." A middle-aged woman retorted.

"Not their son and daughter-in-law, but the old couple!" The young man added.

"What? They're both over 60? How could they cause such a scandal at such an old age?" An old man exclaimed in surprise.

"Hehe, they'll have to hide their faces when walking in the neighborhood in the future." A young man said gleefully.

"However, it's questionable whether Mr. Qin can be saved or not." A middle-aged man sighed.

"Serve them right, the Qin couple isn't anything good anyway." A woman grumbled angrily.

"Yes, it's best if they both die in the hospital!" A young man said maliciously.

These words were like sharp knives, piercing into the hearts of Qin Kang and Mrs. Qin. They couldn't imagine that they would become the laughingstock and gossip of others at this age because of such a thing. Their hearts were filled with regret and helplessness, but it was already irreversible.
