The Justice League emerged from the zeta tube into the now desolate city of Salem, their faces contorting with horror as they took in the nightmarish scene. The sky was a menacing red, casting an eerie glow over the landscape. Buildings lay in ruins, craters pockmarked the ground, and the terrain was deformed, with grotesque organic substances oozing from the shattered earth. Deformed trees, twisted and gnarled, stood like sentinels of despair. The most harrowing sight was the bodies of the humans, some completely deformed and mutated due to the chaotic energy unleashed by the Chaos Lord Klarion.
Wonder Woman stepped forward, her eyes wide with shock. "By Hera, what is this?"
Aqualad approached Batman, his expression grim. "Batman, we lost Kent due to the interference of Abracadabra and Klarion, the Witch Boy, Lord of Chaos, Lunaris Is currently trying to keep him at bay."
Superman, eyes scanning the devastation, interjected, "They're in Beverly now. Diana, on me."
Before he could take off, Batman stopped him with a firm hand on his shoulder. "No, Superman. Help us evacuate the people trapped under the rubble first. Flash, you and Wally see if you can find survivors. The rest of you, pan out."
The League members divided themselves, coordinating their efforts to find any survivors in Salem while others headed towards Beverly to assess the situation there.
Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern were assigned to head to Beverly.
"Let's move," Wonder Woman commanded, her voice resolute.
Superman, Batman, tornado and Aquaman focused on the evacuation efforts in Salem, each using their unique abilities to clear debris and locate survivors.
Flash and Wally, the two speedsters, became blurs of motion as they raced through the city, searching for any signs of life amidst the devastation.
"Found a few over here!" Wally shouted, his voice echoing through the ruins.
Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Artemis joined them, their skills complementing the speedsters' efforts as they carefully navigated the treacherous terrain.
"Be careful," Green Arrow warned, his keen eyes scanning the ground for unstable sections. "This place is a deathtrap."
Meanwhile, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern reached Beverly, where the chaos from the battle between Toneri and Klarion had spread. The sight that greeted them was equally horrific, with parts of the city resembling the same nightmarish landscape as Salem.
"Diana, can you sense anything?" Martian Manhunter asked, his telepathy already scanning the area for survivors.
Wonder Woman closed her eyes briefly, reaching out with her divine senses. "There are people trapped here too. We need to act fast."
Green Lantern nodded, creating a massive construct to start lifting debris and clearing paths. "Let's get to work."
As the League members divided their efforts, with a sense of urgency. The battle between Toneri and Klarion had left a trail of destruction. The air was thick with the remnants of chaotic energy and Toneri's chakra, and every moment counted as they worked tirelessly amidst the nightmarish aftermath.
Back with toneri and klarion
A flash of crimson energy slammed into Toneri, propelling him through several buildings until he collided with a bell tower. With a deft backflip, he landed feet-first on the tower before blasting off back at Klarion, destroying the structure in the process.
As he soared through the air, Toneri's mind raced. 'A conceptual entity such as Klarion shouldn't be able to exist in the physical plane to begin with. Even after destroying his body countless times, he keeps reconstituting and reforming over and over again. Fuinjutsu only holds him for a few seconds, minutes at best. Unless I hit him with conceptual attacks which are to strong and may cause extensive damage, he won't really take any damage.'
A wave of energy shaped like a demonic harpy hurtled toward him. Dodging it with ease while maneuvering midair, his azure eyes shone as he evaded the paws of an amalgamation of an enormous dog and insect, warped with Klarion's chaotic energy. The creature salivated and convulsed due to its instability. 'He forcefully melded the souls together,' Toneri thought, his Tenseigan allowing him to see the tortured souls within the monstrosity.
In the distance, Klarion stood before an army of grotesque abominations: twisted hybrids of animals and humans, trees with limbs like tentacles, and the ground itself resembling the innards of a beast, oozing foul substances. It was a scene plucked from the worst of nightmares.
Landing on the fleshy ground, Toneri flared his chakra as he touched the fleshy floor and called out, "Amenokaguchi!" A blinding pillar of white flames erupted around him, incinerating most of Klarion's abominations. The flames spread out, as if with a mind of their own, seeking out and reducing the monstrosities to ash.
'Usually, when a multi-dimensional entity like this tries to come into a lower world, a vessel is always required,' he thought. His Tenseigan churned as he observed the mass of chaotic energy that took the form of the Witch Boy. 'How did something this chaotic stay anchored to this world without collapsing it or fading away due to the world rejecting its existence? Trying to kill him normally is futile, and that body isn't a vessel of any sort. So how is he...'
His Tenseigan spotted a string of chaotic energy branching from Klarion's body, leading elsewhere. Before he could ponder further, clouds formed above. Klarion raised his hand, cackling, "Suck on this, you stupid god!" A bolt of massive red lightning sped toward Toneri, now midair.
"Shisekiyoujin!" Toneri invoked, the Crimson Ray Formation morphing from its original gigantic four cornered form into a compressed bubble barrier around him. The barrier enveloping Toneri and held as Klarion's energy crashed into it. Klarion screamed in frustration, "Hey, no fair! That was supposed to hit you!"
Toneri heard a meow and finally saw where the string of chaotic energy led. Completing his thoughts, he realized, 'A tether, huh?' In the next instant, a green missile crashed into Klarion, exploding, followed by a massive beam of heat from Superman's vision spearing through the chaos lord. Klarion screamed as the heat vision tried to reduce him to dust.
The bolt of energy on Toneri disappeared, and he canceled his barrier, turning to see Wonder Woman and Green Lantern approaching.
Wonder Woman called out, "Lunaris, you alright?"
"Yes," Toneri replied, "but the situation is starting to seriously get out of hand."
Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern, added, "It's already out of hand, Lunaris. How did this escalate from one city to another so quickly?"
"Believe me, it would have been worse," Toneri said, "but I am limiting the damage to this city with my chakra, preventing his energy from completely warping the entire continent into something nightmarish."
Klarion appeared behind them, above, and blasted Superman with a bolt of energy, causing him to scream in pain. "Stupid Kryptonian, I am going to skin you alive and separate your skeleton to be used as a trophy!" Klarion snarled.
Wonder Woman tried to bind the chaos lord with her lasso, which seemed to work for a few seconds before he became pure energy, reappearing behind Diana and hitting her with another energy bolt, sending her crashing into a crater. "I don't have time to play with Zeus' little godling," Klarion mocked.
Hal formed multiple missiles and laser constructs, firing them at Klarion, but the chaos lord turned them all to water before they could touch him. "And you, stupid dimwit, your little will trinket is useless against me!"
Klarion raised both arms, more clouds forming. Toneri thought, 'This is bad.'
Massive bolts of red lightning began raining down on them. Superman dodged and weaved through the attacks, firing off heat visions at Klarion. Wonder Woman blocked the energy bolts with her divine bracers. Hal was pinned down, forming a bubble shield around himself to fend off the relentless assault.
Toneri looked up at the gathered clouds and smirked. Channeling the chakra already in the air, meant to keep Klarion's corruption from spreading, he turned the energy into lightning which started to gather in the clouds. The red lightning raining down suddenly stopped. Confused, Klarion looked up and saw a massive creature made of white lightning forming and screeching at him.
Superman landed next to Green Lantern and Wonder Woman, exclaiming, "Great Scott!"
Wonder Woman, equally awed, muttered, "By Hera."
Toneri's eyes shone with a mischievous smile as he intoned, "Kirin."
The lightning beast then sped down at Klarion with a speed of 1/1000th of a second, engulfing the chaos lord. The technique crashed down with a resounding
"zweeezooooooot"
In a flash of lightning, followed by a deafening
"KRAAAAAAKOOM."
The technique would have completely erased more than half of the city if they hadn't moved the fight outside the city boundaries.
As the smoke cleared, Toneri stood there, watching the result. Green Lantern undid the green safe he created around himself and Wonder Woman, leaving Superman outside due to his invulnerability.
Toneri heard a meow again as Klarion started to reconstitute. He thought, 'Where is it?' He scanned around before seeing the string supplying Klarion's energy disappear into a small space above them. His Tenseigan eyes peered through space and time, locating an orange cat with red eyes that meowed again, 'there!'
As Klarion finished reconstituting, Toneri disappeared, his hand coated in Tenseigan chakra. He punched forward into the pocket dimension, roughly dragging the cat out. Klarion saw this and started to panic. "Hey, leave Teekl alone, you bully! He's done nothing to you!"
Toneri, holding the cat by the neck, said nothing while tilting his head. "I have been wondering how a conceptual entity as powerful and chaotic as you could even be allowed into the lower realm such as Earth. I came up with two theories: it's either through a host, but I have destroyed and decimated that body of yours using different methods and techniques to no avail. So it must have been something else," he continued with an impassive tone. "An anchor."
Klarion pleaded, "You wouldn't harm a harmless kitty, would you?"
Toneri looked at the boy as if he were dumb. Using Particle Style, he reduced the cat to dust. In a flash of light, the cat was atomized.
Klarion screamed, "NOOOOO!" as his body started to flicker in and out of existence. He looked at Toneri and spat, "You stupid god, I will be back for you," before he completely faded from existence.
As Klarion faded, Toneri came back down to join the League members. The red sky began to disappear, and all the warped landscapes returned to normal, leaving only destruction behind.
