Chapter 14 - The wisp.

When I opened my eyes again, I found myself in a new space, a large hall with walls as white as marble and bluish columns that seemed to be made of lapis lazuli or something similar. Magical lights decorated the place.

In this gigantic hall, in front of me, there was a large door decorated with jewels and magical symbols, unique runes emitting powerful and distinct mana, though I couldn't comprehend even a tenth of them. Above it was a sign with something written beside it: Library Room.

To the right, a more common door with a house symbol was situated, and next to it was written Living Quarters. Behind me, I could see a place like a temple that seemed to act as a portal or something similar, as below it a constructed magic circle emanated different types of energies, transmitting mystery and curiosity.

As I was curious about the whole environment and thought about starting to explore the places, I heard a small noise, and a bluish light appeared in front of me.

When the light faded and I could see more clearly, I realized that this light was like a small fairy, but I couldn't see its form, and now it only seemed to be made of this blue mana light.

While I was looking at it curiously, I heard a notification appear in front of me.

Immediately after this message, I heard a childish yet cute and formal voice in my head.

"Hello, young beastman. You have reached this place by fulfilling certain conditions and accepting the opportunity for a legacy."

"Entering the path of the greatest mage that ever existed in the universe is not easy. It will require work, dedication, and more effort than usual. There will also be gigantic challenges and responsibilities to come and fulfill."

As he spoke, I felt a pressure come over my body. The pressure seemed to come not only from him but from the whole hall, as if a superior and absolute entity was putting me on trial and at the same time showing a small proof of the responsibilities and people I would have to deal with.

The pressure was so gigantic that it seemed to force my body to its core, and I almost kneeled because of it. However, I resisted, something told me that if I kneeled, this wisp would send me away in an instant.

I slowly raised my eyes and looked at him. I had no reason to nor did I want to refuse. Evidently, there would be more complications and probably difficult missions, but this was something I planned to achieve.

"Do you plan to accept?" A voice, or rather what seemed like a combination of voices coming from the Wisp and from everywhere at the same time, asked me.

"I accept the burden of this challenge and legacy."

"As you wish, my new master. May our future be surrounded by magic."

After he spoke, a light covered me. I felt different energies entering my body and influencing it. At the same time, somehow, I felt a connection with this wisp and with the whole place I was in. It was a strange sensation, as if my soul was being modified and expanded... Some say that certain games create this type of sensation with a very intriguing psychic effect. Just as within games, there are flavors that go beyond what is felt in the normal world, other perceptions within the game can also be altered.

This was one of them, a sensation of increasing your own existence and at the same time a strange kind of pain. Like a virtual reality technology that affects cognitive, perceptual, and neural aspects, it has an excellent effect sometimes used in mental or traumatic care treatments.

While my mind was diverted between an article I read the other day and the moment I was feeling, he finally finished, and I sighed, feeling my body slightly different while various notifications appeared in front of me.

I sat on the ground and focused on reading them.

After seeing so many notifications, I got dizzy for a second and decided to read the title first.

---

There was no specificity in percentage, something expected, but purely it is a powerful title since it has numerous effects, which is quite rare for a title, and I was especially intrigued by the effect of not receiving damage from my own magic.

Following this, I decided to read the first official Skill of the class.

With that observed, I looked at the wisp in front of me.

"Please choose my name, master."

Seeing him, I decided to ask first.

"Is there any name you desire?"

The wisp seemed surprised, as its constant flickering stopped for a moment as if it had been surprised. It replied after a while.

"I had a name a long, long time ago… but as a new master after such a long, long time… I wish to have a new name for a new life and existence. I leave it to your choice, master."

Hearing this, I was surprised but smiled softly at it.

I thought for a few minutes and finally decided to choose a name I appreciated while observing it carefully.

"Your name will be…"
