As Sukuna witnessed Hikari's immense power, he felt the need to seriously engage with his prey. The air around them crackled with tension.
*Boomm*
The place where Sukuna landed distorted as he leaped high and landed on an ice surface.
"Thanks, Uraume."
There wasn't any need for Uraume's help here, but Sukuna didn't mind. He had a different idea from the beginning: everyone was ganging up on him, so why shouldn't he?
"Uraume, join me. Let's play tennis," Sukuna roared in Uraume's direction.
Hearing her master's order, Uraume was surprised and skeptical. He never let her fight alongside him, but today, she was going to.
"Yes, Master Sukuna," she shouted back, her voice filled with a mix of emotions- excitement, and determination.
"Not so fast, bitch!"
***Bangggggg***
Uraume was sent flying miles away, much to the surprise of both Sukuna and Hikari. They turned to see the new arrival.
"Sumiko, what are you doing here?" Hikari shouted, seeing Sumiko emerging from the ruins.
Sumiko came into view, looking at the quiet Sukuna and Hikari who had just called her out. Despite her eyes being covered with dark circles, possibly due to crying, she gave him a faint smile.
"To assist you, dear... I don't want to lose someone important again, and if you are dying, I will be following you," she replied.
Hearing her reasoning, Hikari sighed. She hasn't recovered yet. Why did the others let her go? Tsk. But in response, Hikari looked at her angrily. "Don't say that, Sumiko. We are surviving this, and we will surely get married after this, so please don't say that."
Hearing his confession and strong reaction, Sumiko's deathly eyes lit up a bit. "I hope what you said is true, or else I will really beat you up," she responded as she received an ice block, shattering it with her power.
"You bitch! How dare you make me look weak in front of my master?" Uraume shouted, emerging from the ground with fury.
The battlefield around them was chaotic. The sky was dark, filled with swirling clouds and the distant sounds of destruction. Rubble and debris were scattered everywhere, and the ground was scarred with craters and cracks from the intense battles.
Ignoring the others, Sukuna focused on Hikari. His plan to torture Hikari mentally was now ruined, so he decided to take matters into his own hands.
Slash
Sukuna's blade glinted in the dim light as he charged toward Hikari. The ground trembled with each step, and the air seemed to thicken with his malevolent aura. Hikari, summoning every ounce of his strength, braced himself for the onslaught. Sumiko stood by his side, her resolve hardening.
As Sukuna approached, Hikari created a barrier, deflecting Sukuna's initial strike. The clash of their powers sent shockwaves through the air, shaking the foundations of the nearby buildings.
Sumiko, not one to stand idle, launched her own attack at Uraume, who barely managed to dodge in time. The ground where Uraume had been standing exploded, sending debris flying in all directions. Uraume retaliated with a barrage of ice shards, but Sumiko shattered them with a wave of her hand, her eyes blazing with determination.
The battle raged on, hikari side giving their all. The sky lit up with flashes of light and bursts of energy as the combatants clashed. Hikari and Sumiko fought with a synergy, while Sukuna and Uraume moved with a deadly grace, their attacks precise and brutal.
Despite the chaos and destruction around them, Hikari felt a glimmer of hope. With Sumiko by his side, he found the strength to push back against the darkness. And as the battle reached its climax, he knew that together, they could overcome any obstacle, no matter how insurmountable it seemed.
The world around them seemed to hold its breath as the final moments of the battle approached, each side preparing for one last, decisive strike.
**Boomm**
"You bitch! I will slaughter you and make soup with your flesh!" Uraume roared, her eyes blazing with fury.
Sumiko matched Uraume's intensity. "Dream on, curse technique: Reverse Pull!" She locked Uraume as her target, causing the surrounding objects to be pulled toward Uraume at high speed, crashing into her with a deafening sound.
"Youuuu... Bamggggg!" Uraume's mouth was slammed by a post as she was engulfed by various objects.
Sumiko watched the battle, smirking at Uraume. "You really thought you could defeat me? You're nothing without your master."
Uraume, struggling under the weight of the compressed boulder, spat back, "You think this changes anything? Master Sukuna will tear your lover apart!"
Sumiko laughed, "Look around, Uraume. Your master is the one getting torn apart. And you will be too! By my hand."
"Cursed technique: Compression!" Sumiko lifted a boulder formed by the combined objects, using her power to compress it from a 50-meter diameter to just 10 meters. "Now my work here is done," she said, looking over at Hikari's fight. "I'll leave the rest to you."
As Hikari and Sukuna's fight progressed, Hikari led Sukuna towards his direction.
"Are you going to keep running like that?" Sukuna mocked.
But then he noticed Uraume being defeated by Sumiko. "Hmph, Uraume is defeated? Well then, I've lost my cook... For her spirit to rest in peace, I will definitely eat your flesh and hers." Sukuna exclaimed.
"Oh, sorry to hear that, but you're going to lose because you didn't take me seriously," Hikari taunted.
"Hmm?"
"Chain of Heaven!" Hikari activated the concept. Instead of divinity, he changed it into a curse. If a being possesses any curse energy, these chains will bind them.
Once activated, numerous segments instantly appeared, wrapping around Sukuna to bind him. Now Sukuna was given the status effect of being bound and having sustained damage inflicted on him. The chains descended from the sky and appeared directly from inside the ground. They bound Sukuna's limbs, shoulders, neck, and abdomen, rendering him completely immobile.
The chains continuously twisted and tightened with enough force to attempt to tear off his head and bend his arms past their limits in a normally impossible direction. They even appeared to bind the space around him.
"What is this chain?" Sukuna asked skeptically as Hikari bound him. His limbs were tied, but he inspected it. "Wow, it is capable of rendering transportation useless and completely nullifying my technique."
"I told you," Hikari laughed. "You underestimated me."
"I feel my strength being drained, but don't think only this can stop me!" Sukuna roared as he tried to free himself. The chains tightened further. "Should I make another binding bow?" he thought.
"Oh, make it in hell!" Hikari roared as light burst out, and the Prison Realm emerged. Thousands of branches spread, surrounding Sukuna and giving him another layer of binding. Finally, the needle of the Prison Realm pierced him through.
Hikari, continuing to mock Sukuna, shouted, "What's wrong, Sukuna? Feeling a bit tied up? You should have taken me more seriously!"
Sukuna, struggling against the chains and the Prison Realm, growled, "This isn't over, Hikari! I'll break free and make you suffer!"
"Keep dreaming, Sukuna. This is your end!" Hikari retorted, focusing all his energy into maintaining the Prison Realm's binding.
As the Prison Realm engulfed Sukuna, the powerful curse king quickly assessed his situation. Realizing that breaking free might take 21 to 29 years, even with the help of Mahoraga, he devised a desperate plan.
With a cruel smirk, Sukuna shouted, "Hikari, if you are a man, release me and take revenge, that is, if you have the guts!" As he mocked Hikari, he subtly launched one of his strongest ranged attacks, an invisible slash bypassing space itself.
The attack cut through buildings, the large boulder, and finally, Sumiko. Everything happened in seconds, leaving Hikari no time to respond to Sukuna's taunt or save his love. Sukuna disappeared, leaving only the Prison Realm and the devastated Shibuya.
Hikari's eyes widened in horror as he watched Sumiko's lifeless body walking towards him, headless. The sight was too much to bear, and he fell to his knees, trembling with anger and sorrow.
"I couldn't save her... I failed..." he muttered, his voice breaking.
Instinctively, Hikari moved to destroy the Prison Realm, but Sumiko's headless body reached out and embraced him. It was as if her final act was to stop him from making a rash decision. The silent message was clear: don't risk it.
Tears streamed down Hikari's face as he hugged Sumiko's body tightly, his heart breaking. The image of her headless form was a haunting reminder of his failure. He cried, his sobs echoing through the empty, ruined streets of Shibuya.
