As the kiss ended, Sumiko shyly hugged him. "What about Riko?" she asked, feeling a pang of guilt for going after her friend's crush. "What will we tell her?"
"We can talk to her when we return," Hikari reassured her. Then, with a teasing laugh, he added, "But seriously, where did my domineering CEO go? When did you become such a kitten?"
Embarrassed, she bit him on the shoulder. "Didn't I tell you? I planned it to get your attention. I'm not that type, okay?" she huffed, pouting.
Seeing her like this, Hikari couldn't help but voice his concern, "Damn, but if your brother finds out that his newly made friend is now dating his sister, he might misunderstand my intentions. He might think I befriended him just to get close to you."
Hearing him say that, Sumiko smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry about that," she said softly. "I'll convince my brother. He knows me well enough to understand. But you have to talk to Riko. If you hurt me, though," she added with a playful glint in her eye, "I'll make sure my brother gives you a good beating."
"Seriously, where is my previous Sumiko?" Hikari teased.
"What do you mean by my previous Sumiko? I only just became yours..." Sumiko replied, her voice trailing off.
Smiling mischievously, Hikari whispered, "The day I laid my eyes on you, I already proclaimed you as mine."
Hearing him say that, Sumiko blushed deeply. "So, your previous words were true. You befriended Satoru just to get close to me, huh?" she said with a playful huff.
"Who knows," Hikari replied with a mischievous smile, before kissing her again. "Ummh... mmuuh... chuuu..."
Their breaths grew heavy as they parted for air. Sumiko's eyes glistened with tears of happiness, Sumiko, emboldened, tried to initiate more, but just then, a light pierced through the darkness.
A voice called out, "Hey, Sumiko, Hikari, where are you? Come out by yourselves. I don't want to search and waste my energy.
Hearing a familiar voice, both Sumiko and Hikari looked at each other, a little dissatisfied with being interrupted when they were having a moment.
As the swamp slowly vanished, they composed themselves, noticing that they were wet with sweat and saliva, their clothes and hair disheveled. Emerging from the darkness, they felt a surge of relief and happiness—they had survived.
Holding hands, they looked forward to their new relationship, feeling hopeful as they stepped into the light. However, their moment was cut short by a pointed "ahem" from Geto Suguru.
Surprised, they turned to see Geto standing there, with Gojo Satoru casually strolling around in the distance.
A little surprised, Hikari asked, "So, who defeated it?"
Geto smirked, glancing at Gojo in the distance. "You think we'd let a cursed spirit like that run loose? Gojo took care of it before it could cause more trouble."
Gojo waved casually, his signature grin in place. "You two took your time. Everything okay?"
Separating from each other, Hikari walked over to Gojo.
Though Sumiko felt a twinge of disappointment as they parted, she started making plans for the future.
Standing closer to Gojo, Hikari asked, "Did the body already disintegrate?"
"Yeah," Gojo replied. "Though I was worried and came running, I never imagined I'd find you flirting with my sister."
With an evil smile, Gojo looked at Hikari and asked, "Are you playing with her?"
Hikari, not giving in to Gojo's intimidating presence, shrugged. "No, I like her... And I won't do anything to make her cry anymore."
"Anymore? What does that mean?" Gojo asked, a bit angry. He thought Hikari might have made his sister cry before.
Though Gojo had made her cry many times and didn't have much reason to act like a loving brother, he was different now. He regretted his actions and wanted Sumiko to be happy this time.
Seeing Gojo's playful demeanor crumble, with his fists clenched and eyes blazing with anger, Hikari couldn't help but smile inwardly. It was rare to witness Gojo so visibly riled up, especially when it came to his sister.
The charismatic and confident Gojo, known for his laid-back and humorous attitude in the original series, seemed to transform in this moment. His priorities had clearly shifted, now that he had someone important enough to provoke such a change in demeanor.
As Hikari pondered this transformation, he walked over to Sumiko, feeling a sense of responsibility and determination. He knew navigating their relationship would be challenging with Gojo's protective nature, but he was ready to prove himself and ensure Sumiko's happiness.
*********
Gojo's POV:
The sight of Hikari approaching Sumiko with such determination brought a mix of emotions for Gojo. His sister's safety and happiness were paramount, and seeing Hikari step up was both reassuring and concerning. He couldn't help but remember his own shortcomings as a brother, the times he'd been distant or too engrossed in his duties to be there for her.
As Gojo prepared to leave, he couldn't shake the worry gnawing at him. The agent's death had been a gruesome reminder of the dangers they faced, and the thought of anything happening to Sumiko or Hikari made his stomach churn.
**********
Sumiko's POV:
Sumiko watched her brother with a mix of admiration and guilt. She knew how much he cared, even if he didn't always show it. The protective stance he took now was a testament to that love, and it made her heart swell with emotion.
"Hikari," she said softly, turning to him, "we'll figure this out. Together."
Hikari gave her a reassuring smile, though the tension in his eyes was unmistakable. "Yeah, we will."
********
Hikari's POV:
Hikari watched as Gojo took off, his mind racing with thoughts of what lay ahead. He felt the weight of Sumiko's expectations and the pressure of living up to Gojo's standards. But more than anything, he felt a deep-seated determination to protect and cherish the girl beside him.
Turning to Sumiko, he squeezed her hand gently. "Shall we go too!"
Sumiko nodded, her eyes reflecting the same resolve. Together, they followed Geto and Satoru.

All leaving the place, they arrived at a luxury hotel and rented four rooms for a few days. The opulent surroundings provided a stark contrast to the harrowing battle they had just endured. It was a much-needed respite for everyone.
As they settled in, Satoru and Suguru made a quick call to Yaga. Gojo's with his usual playful tone he spoke. "Yaga, the mission is completed. The cursed spirit has been dealt with."
Yaga's voice crackled through the speaker, filled with relief. "Good job. And Sumiko? Hikari?"
Gojo glanced over at Sumiko and Hikari, who were settling into their room. "They're safe and fine."

As they settled into the luxury hotel, night fell, and Hikari decided to take a relaxing hot bath in the public bath. As he entered, he noticed Geto and Gojo playing with water like kids. The sight was unexpected, given their usual serious demeanor.
Both of them quickly composed themselves, trying to act like proper gentlemen when they saw Hikari. Their sudden change in behavior was obvious.
"What's with this sudden change of attitude towards me?" Hikari asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing," Gojo replied, his voice calm but not quite matching his usual tone. He continued soaking in the water, trying to maintain a straight face.
Hikari observed them for a moment, pondering their unusual behavior. Then, a thought crossed his mind, and he glanced at them with a knowing smile. "Oh, I get it. You're trying to act like a proper brother-in-law now that I'm with your cute sister, huh?"
A loud crack echoed through the bath as Gojo's grip tightened in anger, causing the wall of the pond to split slightly. Despite his attempts to maintain composure, his frustration was evident.
Geto quickly stepped in to diffuse the situation. "We're just looking out for Sumiko, that's all. You should try to understand? Imagine a friend of your dating your sister?"
Hikari nodded, appreciating their protective nature. "I get it. I'll take good care of her, you have my word. And for your question... I don't have a sister, so no... I can't imagine."
The tension eased slightly as Geto spoke, but as Hikari responded, Gojo's temperature seemed to rise again. There was no relaxing time for Geto at this rate.
Geto sighed inwardly, realizing that this new dynamic would take a lot of patience. He wondered how things would evolve, knowing it would take time for everyone to adjust. But for now, he was willing to try and make it work, hoping they could find a balance and keep the peace..
Finished with his bath, Hikari returned to his room, the steam from the hot springs still clinging to his skin. He opened his bag to find new clothes, remembering he was in a different room and had only brought fresh clothes to wear today, given that he was staying in a hotel.
After changing into more comfortable attire, he grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and took a long drink. Stretching his muscles and feeling the day's tension slowly fade away, he turned off the lights and headed to bed.
As he sat down, he suddenly realized someone was already in his bed. Startled, he leaned closer to see who it was, his heart pounding in his chest.
"Sumiko?" he whispered, recognizing her silhouette in the dim light. She stirred slightly, her eyes fluttering open as she looked up at him.
"Hikari..." she mumbled sleepily, a soft smile appearing on her lips. "I couldn't sleep alone."
Knowing her childish lie that she couldn't sleep alone like a kid, Hikari decided to play along. He gently lay down beside her, wrapping an arm around her protectively. "It's okay," he whispered back, pulling her close. "You're safe with me."
With a light blush on her cheeks and a pounding heart, Sumiko snuggled into Hikari's embrace, taking a deep breath of his scent. She whispered, "You smell nice."
Hikari, accepting her in his arms, replied with a soft chuckle, "Is that so?" He gently grabbed a lock of her snow-white hair and sniffed it. "Yours is better."
Seeing Hikari do that, Sumiko's embarrassment grew. She playfully hit his chest with her small fist, calling him a pervert.
"Pervert," she huffed, though there was a smile tugging at her lips.
Hikari laughed softly, holding her tighter. "Maybe," he teased, "but only for you."
Sumiko's heart fluttered at his words, and she settled back into his embrace, feeling safe and cherished.
With such cute reactions from Sumiko, Hikari couldn't hold back his urge. He gently lifted her chin and began with a tender kiss on her forehead. Next, he moved to her pointy ears, then her round eyes, and finally her rosy cheeks. Each kiss was slow and deliberate, leading up to the final, soft kiss on her reddened lips.
Throughout the whole process, Sumiko closed her eyes, surrendering to his gentle advances. She felt each of his kisses ignite a warmth within her, causing her tummy to boil with emotion and excitement.
Finishing with a French kiss, Hikari looked at the flushed and breathless Sumiko. Closing the gap between them, he bit her ear gently and whispered, "Can we?"
Hearing him and feeling the pleasure as Hikari continued to nibble on her earlobe, Sumiko softly moaned, "Um... Ah!! Please I also want to...?!"
