Bang!
Ye Fan's fist landed with precision, ending the last of the ambushing Yuyin ninja. He brushed off the bloodstains on his clothes and continued his journey.
"Peace... It's a rarity in these times. The great nations, wary of each other, resort to lethal measures against any foreign ninja trespassing on their lands. Even the Chūnin exams serve as a show of strength."
Ye Fan's steps carried him more than ten meters at a time, his gaze steely. Having been in this world for years, he was no stranger to its harsh realities. His ambitions were modest—righting past regrets and averting certain events. The notion of unifying the ninja world held no appeal. True unity required ideological and cultural harmony, a lofty goal far beyond the reach of the current fragmented ninja world.
Three days later, Ye Fan arrived at Konoha's gates. He felt a wave of nostalgia and determination.
"Please register here," a guard prompted. With the Chūnin exams in session, security was tight, and the guards were vigilant. The guard's suspicion grew at the sight of Ye Fan's blood-stained clothes.
"Name, country, here for the Chūnin exam? Why are you alone?" the guard inquired sharply.
"Hyuga Steel Plate Ye Fan, from Konoha, here for the Chūnin exam, and traveling solo," Ye Fan replied calmly.
"Hyuga clan? Never heard of you!" The guard's skepticism prompted the surrounding shinobi to close in.
A Konoha jōnin recognized Ye Fan and ordered the others to stand down. Ye Fan handed over a wooden token inscribed with the word "oil," which immediately commanded respect and understanding.
"Can I go in now?" Ye Fan asked.
"Y-yes, of course," the guard stammered, stepping aside.
As Ye Fan entered Konoha, whispers followed him. His return sent ripples through the village's upper echelons, drawing the attention of both the Third Hokage and Shimura Danzo. The latter, wary and calculating, ordered Ye Fan to be monitored closely, ready to act if necessary.
"Heh, Konoha's not taking any chances," Ye Fan mused, aware of the surveillance. Ignoring it, he headed straight for the Chūnin registration office. Upon arrival, he witnessed an intriguing scene.
A green-clad figure with white bandages leapt down, challenging Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura.
"I'm Rock Lee. You're Uchiha Sasuke, right?"
Sasuke's cold glance spoke volumes of disdain.
"Uchiha Sasuke, I challenge you to a duel!"
Sasuke's indifference was palpable. Annoyed, Naruto intervened, determined to prove himself.
"I'm Uzumaki Naruto, and I'll knock you out in five minutes!"
Naruto's attempts were futile; Rock Lee effortlessly subdued him. Claiming to be the strongest genin in Konoha, Lee's confidence irked Sasuke, who prepared to fight.
Ye Fan, watching from the sidelines, couldn't suppress his laughter. "Looks like Sasuke's in for a beating!"
Lee and Sasuke turned toward the source of the laughter. Recognizing Ye Fan, Sasuke's Sharingan activated in rage.
"Uchiha Ye Fan!" he spat, fists clenched and eyes burning with anger.
