Shadows slowly crept, gripping onto Erik as it moved up. Erik's eyebrows scrunched as he tried to move, but like he was standing in quicksand that was not letting him go. The shadows wasted no time, had his entire body restricted.
Erik couldn't move an inch, and Elma couldn't attack. Just as she was about to act, she heard Erik's grunt. Following which, the shadows vanished, and the room returned to its usual coldness. Elma held Erik, checking what happened to him, and pinpointed the location. Her sense made out the entire structure of his back, but before she could even look at the mark, her senses were cut off and she felt a slight pain, making her raise an eyebrow in surprise.
Erik didn't know that as he was focusing his senses over his back, the curved, serrated sword mark appeared, starting from his left shoulder-blade, moving down, completely occupying his left back.
