The being, calling itself a guardian, then waved its hand and the world around them started distorting. It was like they were standing in a space crack that would crumble at any moment. But they didn't even have the time to worry about it, as in the next instant, the distorting stopped and they found themselves in a different location.
They were now engulfed in pure, oppressive darkness. No matter which direction they turned, the void surrounded them, swallowing everything except themselves. Yet despite the lack of light, they could see each other with perfect clarity—a stark contrast to the emptiness around them.
Confusion visible on their faces, and both of them turned to the guardian, waiting for an explanation. What was this place? Why had they been brought here?
