Valcroy felt like he heard something wrong, turning sharply toward Erik. His mind raced, struggling to make sense of what he had just heard. "Thirty minutes? That's impossible," he muttered, more to himself than to Erik. Anger rushed when he recalled the seemingly endless wandering, the constant circling. How could that all have happened in such a short span?
He was about to ask if the young master was joking, but stopped when he saw Erik's expression change. His eyebrows narrowed as his eyes darted past Valcroy, focused on something in the distance. Without a word of explanation, Erik's entire demeanor shifted, and in an instant, he rushed in the opposite direction.
"Come on!" Erik's voice broke through the silence, waking Val from his daze. "We need to move. Now."
