Bang!
The tear in the fabric of the world sealed itself almost as quickly as it had opened. Before it did that, four bodies were flung out without a notice into the heart of a forest. It was less of a descent and more like an expulsion; they hit the ground, their bodies producing thudding noises, limbs tangled and sprawled like broken puppets, making one wonder if this really was a safe way to travel.
Valcroy stirred first, a groan escaping his lips, waited for a moment for his bones to heal. After they were to a bare minimum, he pushed himself up with those trembling arms.
Around him, the scenery felt impossibly serene. Golden sunlight filtered through a lush canopy above, dappling the forest floor in warm hues completely different from what they were under a moment ago.
