THE NEXT DAY
CAYLEY'S POV
I woke up, had my bath and got changed then hurried downstairs while receiving flirtatious gazes from some of the guys.
I had my breakfast and when I was about leaving the kitchen, I bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry" I said groaning a but from the impact.
"Oh it's alright...are you new here?" The girl asked.
"Yeah, I'm Cayley"
"Oh you, nice to meet you, I'm Chiara"
What does she mean by 'oh you'
"Nice to meet you too" I replied and gave a little smile.
"I'm quite busy right now, we'll talk later?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yeah sure"
She walked away and I went off to find Kayden since he wanted to talk to me.
I found him by the pool and went over to him.
"Hey" I said and he looked up at me, smiled and grabbed a towel.
"Hey"
"You wanted to talk to me"
"Yeah let's go inside"
"Okay".
"I'm sure you must have been wondering how and why you're here" he started and I nodded.
"Well let's just say... it's for your own good"
"My own good? How?"
"It's not safe anywhere Cayley...I feel like you're gonna be in danger and I just want to protect you"
"Danger? Protect me?" I asked
"Yeah. I know it's confusing but I just wanted to keep you somewhere safer. This place is our home and I'm sure no harm can get to you from here"
"Does someone want to hurt me?" I asked while already panicking.
"Yo chill, take a deep breath. No one's gonna hurt you, not on my watch" he assured me and I took a deep breath and looked down when I saw a gun by his waist and my eyes widened in shock and he seems to have known the reason for my sudden fright.
"Hey it's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you"
So they really kill people, I have to be careful.
"It doesn't kill before you overthink" he said and I looked up at him. What's he trying to say? That's a god-damned gun.
"Huh" I said obviously confused.
"It's an advanced technology made in our secret lab. They electrify the body when made in contact but does not kill. There are ones made to paralyze and there are ones used in war to temporarily shut down the body and ones that instantly erases memories. We're not really into bloodshed when we really needed, we use real bullets" he replied.
I was beyond relieved that they weren't into bloodshed that much.
"Oh okay"
"Yeah"
"Oh yeah uhm... what about Eliana, Daisy and Sarah. How are they? Would I get to see them soon?" I asked excitedly.
"Firstly, they're good, then secondly, I'm afraid you wouldn't be seeing them soon" He replied and my excitement gone.
"Ohh" I said obviously disappointed.
"But I do have a surprise for you" I looked at him curiously.
"Really? What is it?"
Kayden turned to one of the guards.
"Bring her in" he said to them.
"Who?"
The door opens and I see... Alva!? How did she get here? Did Kayden bring her here? She runs to me and hugs me and I hug her back and I didn't know when tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Tell me I'm not dreaming" I said looking at Kayden and back at Alva.
"Cayley!! I missed you so so so much!" Alva said and I placed a kiss on her forehead.
"I missed you too princess" I hugged her again.
"She'll be staying at the kid's center in a different mansion" Kayden said and I turned to look at him.
"Oh okay...thank you so much for bringing her here" I said to him, truly grateful. But how did he get her here? Did my parents sell her too!?. I turn to Alva and tell her to wait for me in the other room and she leaves.
I turned back to Kayden. "Did my parents sell her too? How could they...I can't believe I called them my parents. Do they even care about me and my sister.."
"Cayley.." he said my name softly and I felt tears rolling down my cheeks again.
"They didn't sell Alva okay. We had to take her away from there. She's not safe there...and your parents won't be able to protect her.." he said
"Alva's in danger too!?"
"Your parents made some pretty bad decisions with a mafia...and they're being hunted down...so they begged me to take Alva and keep her safe and I'll do just that Cayley."
My parents got involved with another mafia!? Why can't they stop getting into trouble...
"Everything's going to be fine Cayley. I already helped your dad pay off his debt but just in case they still try to kill him, I had some of my men stay with them" hearing what he said I felt even more grateful to him and I just hugged right there...
"Thank you, for everything" I said with a slight blush already on my cheeks...I mean I just hugged Kayden!
He smiled at me "Not a problem".
I smiled back.
"Well I have to go now" he said and I felt a bit sad that he had to leave now.
"Okay".
He leaves and I go back to playing with Alva.
