Chapter 3 - 3. Memories

'I can feel more rain belting down against my flesh. The cutting wind has shown itself in full form, never disappointing with it's power to do what it comes to do. At least I began walking toward the farm and am almost back inside of my home before getting panel beaten by this weather. Aaaaaaaahhh, so glad I started a fire in the lounge before going. It's gonna really help me get warm again. Almost back now. I can see the smoke from my fire. The thought of it just is enough to make me feel warm for a moment in my mind. Pushing my adrenaline. Amazing how that happens from just an electrically charged impulsive thought and the effect it has on my nervous system. Wow. It's so alive. Always generating energy, always watching over the system inside of me. I am fascinated with this experience'.

'Clink', 'click', went the key in the door and opened the lock as shana walked her way back inside her farmhouse which she inherited from her grandmother, along with her other 2 siblings. The time is pretty much 16h20 on a Sunday afternoon. The fire is strong and Shana plops herself on the couch to the side of the fireplace, closing her eyes.

An hour later Shana is awakened. Her sister Clara is fumbling in through the door with a bunch of things in her hands. "Hey sis" Clara says while closing the door. "I brought some food to make for dinner and a bottle of your favourite red". Shana slowly rears herself up to a sitting position on the couch while rubbing her face with her hands and mumbles to her sister with a bellowing tone in her voice, "Hey Clara, welcome home sis", with a short quick smile upon her lips. "Just give me a moment to wake up a bit"!

Clara walked over to Shana and gave her a hug and a kiss on her forehead before taking her groceries to the kitchen. "I'm going to start preparing the food, I am so hungry that I would go digging for roots in this freezing ground if I had to"! Clara giggled to herself.

Shana stood up and went to the fireplace and put a wooden block on the flames. 'Kishhhhhh', went the fire and 'kushoosh' as she lightly threw another block on the previous one. "How was your day C"?

"It has been a long and cold day, not much really going on at the shop today, most likely due to the weather and it being a sunday"! She exclaimed.

"I decided to shut the shop early and come rather spend time with you, having a meal and some wine and maybe we can watch something on the tele", smiling large as she looked her sisters way.

"I got a call from our uncles' lawyer earlier today, it would seem that he has not been in touch with them for quite a while and he has left instructions for them to give to me". "OH", Clara blurted out softly. "What's going on there then?". "I am not sure exactly, they won't say anything over the phone, they have asked that I come through to their offices and talk with them and I should bring a witness with me too. This is obviously very important and something has happened with our uncle or why would they be asking me to come through to them and to bring a person with?". "Yes", claimed Clara. "It is rather intriguing, since we have not heard anything from or about him for many years"!

Now, with all these thoughts in their minds, Clara and Shana helped each other with preparing their food. One did the tacos and the chicken, while the other the raw spinach leaves and some chopped tomatoes and peppers and a last minute addition of birds eye red chillies into the chicken bbq sauce brewing on the stove. Putting the ingredients into the sauce and simmering for about 20 min on a low heat. Shana opened the wine and took two glasses from the top right cupboard above the refrigerator, then poured both glasses two thirds of the way. Giving a glass to Clara, she went to the lounge area and back onto her couch as her sister promptly followed her. Without a word, they looked into each others eyes and 'kkliiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnng' as the crystal resonated its frequency, cutting the air. Sipping the wine and taking off their shoes, waiting hungrily.
