Chapter 5 - Staying Over

It was now a few minutes before midnight. Kenny and Michelle both stood in front of the door to their apartment as Kenny was fumbling over what key he needed to open the door. It was a bit too dark to see. He solemnly sighed as the key he had recently picked out wasn't the right one.

"So, how was it?" Michelle said, hugging Kenny from behind. She wrapped her arms around his small torso, holding herself into place. Kenny held himself with her weight on her back. Even though she had a good smelling perfume on, he kept his composure. "Did you like my acting skills?"

"Y-yeah." Kenny agreed.

"Adam's friends completely thought I was his actual girlfriend!" She laughed, "Honestly, I should just take up acting~"

"I think you're cut out for it." Added Kenny. Michelle then nuzzled her face against Kenny's cheeks and giggled. Some would say that she is drunk, but this is simply her behavior when she is alone with her Kenny. Turns out she is a heavyweight when it comes to drinking as well.

Just as Kenny got the door to their department open, the two heard footsteps to the side. "Adam~" Michelle cooed, "What's up"

"My car is having some trouble starting." He said, holding direct eye contact with Kenny, "Do you mind if I spend the night here and fix it in the morning?"

"Sure~" Michelle chimed, "You're okay with that too, right Kenny?"

Kenny looked downwards to avoid Adam's gaze. "Y-Yeah, that's fine." Having Michelle make the decision seemed like the right call, or else Kenny would not give him an answer, standing there awkwardly for a few minutes. Also, it's not bad to be hospitable.

The three then entered their house, Kenny being the one to turn on the lights and set everything up. That's when a huge problem seeped its way into his head. Where would Adam be sleeping?! "Umm, we only have two beds." Kenny said, "Our coach isn't a foldable, so you'd have to sleep on it as is."

Adam eyed the coach and crossed his arms, "There's no way I'm fitting onto that."

"He's right." Michelle said, playfully putting her arms behind her back, "That's an issue with being tall!"

"Then, I'll take the sofa. You two can sleep in the bedroom." Kenny suddenly blurted out. Both Michelle and Adam looked at him. Kenny had no idea why he said that. He didn't even think he opened his mouth. That damn subconscious of his!

"Are you sure about this?"

Kenny stayed quiet as he thought about this. Michelle and Adam would be in the same room together. Not only that, it was his room and his bed, but he couldn't enter. A situation that he longed for and hated at the same time. It was still a question on whether or not Michelle would be "pretending" with Adam, but it's a gamble he's willing to take. "Yes," Kenny finally said, "Make yourself at home, Adam."

"Thank you." Adam said as he turned and made his way down the hallway. He did not even look back at Kenny. Michelle followed the muscular man into their bedroom, waving towards her boyfriend.

"Good night, Kennybear~" She said.

"Good night." Kenny replied. After they had gone and closed the door. Kenny found a small pillow, and a leftover blanket. He then set them up on the sofa and plopped in, turning off the lights. He could hear Michelle and Adam's muffled voices through the walls. Those silly scenarios of them together played in his mind again, but this time he didn't have to control himself. He couldn't think of anything else but them, it was like a trance. Despite that he was so tired from the bar today, that he drifted off to sleep a few minutes after.
