Emily and Daniel eagerly led Eliza and Vaughn on a tour of Baltimore City. Though Eliza had grown up in this very city, the past three years of studying and working away had distanced her from the familiar streets and neighborhoods.
And the last time she had been here was only a short visit.
As they stepped out of the Monroe mansion, the air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, the buzz of city life.
"First stop," Emily announced, her voice bubbling with excitement, "is the Inner Harbor. You know, the usual touristy spot, but it's a must-see every time, right?"
Eliza smiled, a wave of nostalgia washing over her. "It's been so long since I've been there. I used to go all the time when I was a kid."
