A week later, Eliza drove towards Virginia to meet Lily.
It had been so long since they had last seen each other, and Eliza felt a pang of nostalgia as she pulled her car into the parking area of a five-star restaurant.
She stepped out, her eyes scanning the elegant facade of the building, and took a deep breath before heading inside.
Lily was already waiting for her, and the moment she saw Eliza, she broke into a wide smile and rushed forward, enveloping her in a warm hug. "I missed you so much, Eliza."
Eliza hugged her back tightly. "I missed you too, Lily."
They made their way to a table near the back of the restaurant, away from the prying eyes and ears of other diners. As they sat down, Lily's eyes sparkled with curiosity and concern. "How are things going now?"
Eliza sighed, her expression turning serious. "As usual."
"Anything new?" Lily asked, her tone probing but gentle.
