A few drops of the baron's blood, and consequently all his memories were obtained! After digesting the acquired information, Alexander pondered it. This Savoyardi fellow was a strong man. And a good one at that. How great that they supported him. Mounting his horse, the vampire left the castle. He headed to the church, not home. He could come to the village at night, but delaying the conversation with the bishop further was not an option. The hints he was dropping to the baron were becoming very direct. The silent confrontation between vampires and the church ended before it could properly begin.
The priest immediately received the knight. Upon entering the familiar office, the vampire got straight to the point.
"Your Eminence, it seems there have been misunderstandings between us."
"You don't think so. I truly dislike godless wizards and am not pleased with your presence on my lands."
"On the baron's lands."
"I am responsible for these lands before God, not the king."
"Nevertheless, these are lands of the kingdom, not the church's. Therefore, your attacks on us are incomprehensible to me. I respect Demura and her strength. I do not violate the laws established by the Church. In response to this, you attack me and my people."
The bishop stood up.
"I sense godlessness in you!"
"But we are not enemies to you or the Church of Light!'
"Good. Then prove it!"
Alexander relaxed. If he began to bargain, he wanted to benefit, so it was possible to find points of contact.
"And what evidence do you want?"
"Let's say a donation of 100 gold coins to the church."
"Your Eminence, we already have our own chapel in the village where we make offerings."
The bishop approached.
"Then prove that you are loyal sons of the Church and that the human race is above all for you. Slay the vile spawn, goblins."
"Well, that's easy. We recently wiped out an entire goblin family."
The priest looked surprised.
"You haven't heard?"
"No."
"Back in the spring, goblins attacked Pesci. We managed to help and slaughtered all the attackers. You can ask the priest from Pesci."
"I will definitely do that, son of light," the priest looked quite threatening, but his anger seemed not to be directed at the vampires.
"I will also add that I will gladly continue to destroy goblins."
After bowing, Alexander stood up and was about to leave, but the host of the office stopped him and seated him back in the chair.
"Since we are having an open conversation, tell me, your grace, what do you think of the monk who settled with you?"
The knight pretended to think.
"I have never thought about him. Seems like an ordinary discharged monk. Why do you ask, your Eminence?"
