Chapter 44 - Chapter 43 Foccused on Training

Once John reached the Wooden Man Post and stepped into the circle all the noise he heard before in the Weapons Hall vanished.

As he looked around, he saw that people were still training in their own areas, however he could hear nothing from outside.

Just ahead and slightly to the side of the Wooden Man Post a projection appears of a human male standing before the post and then hitting one of the arms of the post with his forearm.

John tried to copy the position the projection was standing in relative to the triangle he saw on the floor Giz'riner had told him about before he tried to copy the same movement of the projection.

Apparently, he failed because the projection made the exact same move, this went on for a while before John got the move right and the projection changed to a different move that John started to copy.

While John was attempting to copy the movements of the projection the trainers in the Weapon Hall had gathered together and were watching him from a distance talking.

"So Giz'riner, why is there a human in our village?" asked an elf trainer.

"Apparently he helped Mossy with a task, and she gave him a letter of invite." Giz'riner said, making all the trainers slightly surprised.

"Mossy really? That's interesting since she is normally picky about who she will socialize with." Said a fairy trainer who was a friend of Mossy.

"Yeah, surprised me too." Giz'riner nodded.

"Who wants to bet on how long he lasts before he gets bored, we all know humans give up on things easily." The elf trainer said again.

All the trainers agreed before the fairy asked.

"What's the wager then?"

"Winner is the one who guesses the closest time to when he gives up and leaves, as for the wager let's say they get all their drinks paid by the others for a month at the inn."

All the trainers liked this idea, so they all agreed and placed their bets before returning to their own tables.

John was still working on the Wooden Man Post though he had not gone through many different moves yet.

Even though it was repetitive, and many people would find it boring, he was actually enjoying himself, even since he became an orphan and had to fend for himself, he never had any free time to do what he wanted.

He was always either going to school, working or sleeping, John had never really had any relaxation time in the last eleven years.

Unless you count the times when he fell ill, but even then, he just focused on getting better before going back to work.

John was enjoying his freedom of not having to worry about working for small amounts of money, or if he could get any decent sales at the shop, or bullies picking on him.

He was enjoying it so much that he lost track of time and spent hours just practicing on the Wooden Man Post.

He had already gone through the full set off movements several times and he had noticed as he just copied the projection until he got it right then moved onto the next move.

All the trainers had noticed that the human boy was still at the same post as hours ago and had not taken a break.

"We need to close up soon as it's getting dark out, should we stop him?" the fairy asked.

"Hmm he seems to be focusing entirely on the training and enjoying it, just look at the grin on his face." Giz'riner said.

"I say we leave him to it and just leave the lights on, he will leave when he gets too tired and bored." The elf said before turning around and leaving the weapons hall."

All the other trainers nodded in agreement and left leaving Giz'riner there staring at the boy and wondering if that was a smart thing to do, after all it was him who warned the boy about pushing himself too hard,

But he also knew how precious and rare it was to be in a state where time did not have any meaning for you, and you could just focus on the training.

In the end he decided to leave as well while saying.

"Good Luck Kid."

A while later John was still training on the wooden man post when a message notification arrived, however he was so focused on his training that he completely ignored the message until it automatically disappeared leaving a message icon blinking in the top corner of his vision.

A little later another message notification showed up, but like before John just did not notice it at all as he was so focused on the training.

Several more notifications popped up but as with the others they were all ignored before they changed into a small icon at the top corner of his vision.

Then after a couple more hours as he was working on one of the moves, he had done countless times now his vision suddenly went black, and notifications appeared before him.

[You have died]

[Loss of 1 level]

[Level: 1>>0]

[Because you died in the starter village you will not suffer the 24-hour logout penalty or have any of your stat points reduced]

[Re-spawning at the closest Re-spawn spot]

A moment later vision came back to John, and he stood there unsure of what happened before several notifications hit him all at once.

[Message received from: Genius Silver Scientist]

[Message received from: Genius Silver Scientist]

[Message received from: Genius Silver Scientist]

[Alert your hunger level risen to 80%]

[Alert your hunger level risen to 90%]

[Alert your hunger level risen to 100%]

[You have died]

[Loss of 1 level]

[Level: 1>>0]

[Because you died in the stater village you will not suffer the 24-hour logout penalty or have any of your stat points reduced]

After reading through the notifications, he realized that he had died because his in-game character had got too hungry, something he did not even know was possible since his status panel did not show anything about hunger.

As he was thinking about this another notification appeared.

[You have 3 unread messages; do you wish to open them?]

[Yes] [No]

"Yes" John said

[John it's time to log out so we can check the MK 0 results for the day.]

[John? Are you there?]

[Oi kid are you in some dungeon or something? You should be too low level for that.]

John sighed before saying.

Log out

[Logging out thank you for playing Genesis.]
