Chapter 40 - Chapter 39 Back to Genesis

"It definitely takes some getting used to." Alea said with a smile before eating some of her sandwiches.

"Wow, this is nice thanks." She said with slight surprise.

"You're welcome." John said before dishing out his own that was now cooked.

"Boo I want some too, John make me one." Elmyra complained.

"Even if I did, how would you eat it?" John asked while shaking his head.

"Meanie, see if I am ever nice enough to wake you up again." Elmyra said, sticking out her tongue before disappearing out of the picture.

"And she's gone." John said before eating.

"Don't worry about her, this happens often, she probably just went to complain to someone else or one of her older selves, she will be back to see you again soon." Alea explained before continuing.

"So anyway, this also connects with why Sarah's rebirth in the game is such a big deal."

"Because she starts back at level zero but is gaining two stat points each level it's essentially as if she has already completed her first-class mission or is at Veteran rank."

"As long as she completes her class missions when they become available, which she will have to do again now that she has been reborn, she will always have more total stat points than any other player, unless someone else gets a rebirth."

"Add onto that her ability to increase the stat point gain by finding more Phoenix blood, this item really will make her broken at higher levels."

"Probably a good idea if she does not go bragging about it to everyone then." John advised.

"Don't worry she is not like that and me and Adria already warned her anyway."

John just nodded in response as he kept eating his late breakfast.

"So did you manage to get the herb's the rabbit was collecting?" Alea asked with a smirk as she could guess what was coming.

"No, I got my ass handed to me by a rabbit." John said with a sigh before explaining.

Alea had expected this result as everyone who started in the central continent underestimated those rabbits to begin with, but that did not stop her laughing at the idea of John being beaten up by the white rabbit.

John just shook his head before finishing his sandwich and beginning to wash everything up.

"So, I guess your plan today is more Genesis?" Alea asked.

"Yup, I want to try and get into the village and see what I can find, also Thasinia want's more data on the Mk 0, what about you?"

"I will also be jumping into Genesis, me and some friends are planning to do a dungeon run we have been gearing up for."

"Sounds fun, I wish you luck." John said to which Alea replied.

"Thanks, I wish you luck with the bunnies." Before she started laughing again.

"Oh, by the way." She said after calming down a bit.

"Adria informed me that you should receive the compensation Dawnscape City owes you by the end of day today, it should take longer but her mother is pushing it through, I guess to show her apologies to everything that happened to you."

John did not reply and just kept washing the pots.

"Anyway, we will go shopping tomorrow so you can get some new clothes and stuff."

"Sounds like a plan, I don't want to have to wear the same clothes three days in a row."

After that they talked for a couple more minutes before Alea left and John decided it was time to finish his quest.

He went over to the reclining chair and sat down before saying with excitement.

"Genesis Sync"

As John opened his eyes, he found himself in the same location he had logged out earlier, though now he could see the sun coming through the tree canopy of the forest whereas it was still dark earlier.

He figured the day/night cycle in Genesis must match that in Atlantia.

After stretching his body, he said.

"Status."

[Name: Vincarna]

[Race: Human]

[Title: None]

[Class: None]

[Level: 0]

[Exp: 0/100]

[HP: 76/100]

[MP: 20/20]

[ATP: 5]

[END: 4]

[Stat Point Breakdown:]

[SPI: 5]

[WIS: 2]

[STR: 5]

[INT: 4]

[VIT: 4]

[Stat Point Allocation: 1 point to each stat on each level up]

[Skills: Inspect, Herb gathering]

"Hmm my HP did not recover, I guess being logged out does not automatically restore HP."

"I wonder if the bread or water in my inventory will help." As John was about to open his inventory, he saw a notification appear.

[HP: 78/100]

John focused on the notification to find out why his health went up.

[While out of combat health will regenerate at a rate of 1% every 5 seconds.]

"That means if I stay out of combat, I will restore all my HP in 110 seconds."

"Wait, what does the bread and water in my inventory do then?"

"Inventory."

[Gold: 0]

[Bread x 5]

[Water x 5]

[Basic Trowel]

[Basic Herb Pouch]

John focused on the bread and water to get their information.

[Bread x 5]

[Simple bread that restores 25% of your total HP when eaten but must be out of combat to receive the effect.]

[Water x 5]

[Simple water that restores 25% of your total MP when drunk but must be out of combat to receive the effect.]

"Ah ok, now I see. I wonder if MP regenerates while out of combat also? Shame I can't test it out."

John closed the Inventory window before picking a direction to go find the final Peacebloom he needed for his quest.

It did not take long to find one, so he took out his trowel and crouched down before attempting to gather the herb.

[Herb gathering success]

[Quest progress:]

[Peacebloom 5/5]

[Silverleaf 5/5]

"Yes, time to head back to the village i guess." John said as he got up and headed back towards the village.

Along the way he kept an eye out for any more herbs together as he figured he might be able to sell them to Mossy or something.

As he was about halfway back to the village, he suddenly heard what seemed to be a whimper coming from behind a nearby bush.

John immediately went off alert in case it was another dangerous bunny.

However, after a few seconds nothing appeared but he kept hearing the whimpering noise.

Deciding to check it out he slowly approached the bush before peering over it.

What he found appeared to be a lump of fur.
