I leaned back in my chair, trying to enjoy my breakfast despite the overly smug expression plastered across Hiroshi's face. I knew he wouldn't stop until he'd had his fill of teasing me.
"Normal human, huh?" I muttered, biting into a piece of bread I'd stolen from his plate without permission. "You're making it sound like I wasn't human before."
Hiroshi smirked, folding his arms across his chest. "Physically, sure, you're human. But your soul? That's an entirely different story."
I sighed, resisting the urge to take the bait. "Forget it. You're just trying to get a rise out of me."
He took a slow sip of his coffee, deliberately drawing out the moment before replying in a loud, clear voice that practically begged for attention. "So, how did it feel?"
I paused mid-bite, narrowing my eyes at him. "How did what feel?"
