This special exam went even better than planned.
Well, the reason might be that, Sakayanagi didn't try to retaliate after what I did, which made things easier for me.
Class C won with a lead of 5-2, which meant.... +190 points, and for class A it is -90 points.
Moreover, things went as expected for class B and D's match too.
It was class B's crushing defeat too, with 5 losses and 2 wins, and the commander of class D was Ryuen, substituted at the last minute.
In a way, their result was exactly similar to ours.
Class points as of March 1 was
Class A: 1001 Points
Class B: 640 Points
Class C: 377 Points
Class D: 318 Points
So, now it would be,
Class A : 911 Points (-90)
Class B : 567 Points (+190) ↑
Class C : 550 Points (-90) ↓
Class D : 508 Points (+190)
Class C has been promoted to class B! Hooray!
But, I don't give a shit to the class rankings.
With this each and every class are in neck and neck with each other in terms of class points, so it would be difficult to guess which class has the maximum chance for reaching class A at the end of third year.
Then comes the most important part.
How come, all this unexpected occurrings happened?
First of all, my nervousness was an act of course.
Sakayanagi had been investigating me, from the day I revealed her that I know about the existence of white room and the connections between Tsukishiro and Ayanokouji.
The only ones in our school who is aware of such things, are Sakayanagi herself, apart from Tsukishiro and Ayanokouji.
Thus, she deployed her spies to tail me almost everyday, to find out the source I knew this information from.
But, she couldn't find anything, for which she was a little tensed and on her guard at the starting of the special exam.
Hence, I acted that way, to make her feel superior, so that she would lower her guard a little.
That's why, the first match of basketball was our loss.
The second event of English Test, was also our loss, but that couldn't be helped, since I wanted to preserve my Trump cards for the later events.
Then came the third event, that is chess.
I knew I was being presumptuous, but it had to be done, if I wanted to keep chances of my victory high.
I chose Koenji.
There was no deal between us, I didn't even talk to him prior to the exam.
I just chose Koenji, gambling on the chance, that he might get bored due to sitting on a chair continuously without doing anything for more than an hour.
And chess was the event, I had instructed Tsukishiro to interfere.
It was not like he agreed just like that.
First of all, he was not aware of my identity, so he asked me on the same anonymous account, I used previously, to ask me if I had any other info related to the white room or anything related to that.
After a bit of chatting, he agreed to help me, by changing some moves in the chess match, if Sakayanagi tries to help.
And, due to that reason, we won the chess match, quite easily at that.
After that comes the most controversial and important part.
How did many students of class A fall sick at the same time?
This phenomenon also happened with Ichinose's class, which caused her crushing defeat in this exam.
Well, the reason was simple.
This story goes like this.
Class D knew that they couldn't survive this special exam, without the help of Ryuen.
So they sought his help, and after some internal blickering, he agreed.
His plan was to attack class B from all sides, so that their spirit would be broken completely.
They harassed class B students prior to the exam, in every way possible.
Invaded their group gatherings, started verbal fight, etc.
Just Ryuen's way of doing things.
Then, the last move was like a nail on their coffin.
Ishizaki bought some amount of laxatives from the drug store, I went before.
Laxatives are substances, used for treating constipation.
However, sufficiently high dosage of laxatives can cause diarrhea too, with increased bowel movement.
So Ishizaki invaded one of the karaoke rooms, class B students were having a discussion in, and swiftly mixed in the laxatives with their drinks and food.
Well, I caught him doing this, recorded a video, took the remaining food or drinks, whatever they had left as proof of abuse of laxatives.
Then, it was quite simple.
I requested Ishizaki to do the same with class A students if he didn't want to get those evidences out.
Of course, I kept my identity, anonymous.
Then, he must have gone crying to Ryuen.
Ryuen must have thought of the consequences and agreed to my request as soon as he saw the footage of Ishizaki carrying laxatives, the drug store's register and the most important, the remaining food mixed with laxatives.
Then what, he did as I told him, because Ryuen wouldn't have lifted a finger, if he were the one in that video.
But, when it comes to Ishizaki Or Ibuki, he gets a bit softer, for his own good.
The laxatives' effect was to be shown 48 hours after ingestion, which was the exam day itself.
However, if Sakayanagi was constantly monitoring me, then how come she didn't even get a single info about it.
Well, that story is for another day.
Thus, a number of students of first year fell ill during the exam, due to the same reason.
The school investigated the matter thoroughly, later on.
However, no evidence could be found, relating the incidents, because, the evidences were already destroyed.
Then, the only natural conclusion of this case was that, the karaoke was shut down for a month, for proper investigation.
Yes, there will be consequences to my actions, like Sakayanagi said.
She understood everything I did, for which she didn't retaliate, even after Tsukishiro interfered in the chess match.
Because, she was aware of those consequences, that she kept silent.
So, basically, Tsukishiro knows that there is a student, protecting Yamauchi Haruki, who also knows of the existence of the white room, which is supposed to be a secret project.
You can also guess, how would this go.
He would try to find out the name of that student, by any means possible.
But, because Yamauchi, which is me, is inside the school's premises, Tsukishiro can't apply violent interrogation methods on him.
However, what about Yamauchi's family?
He can do whatever he wants with them, to find out the source of such information, or even try to blackmail me.
Worst case scenario, Yamauchi's family would be killed. It's entirely possible.
You know what, maybe because they are just mere side characters in a light novel story, I don't feel anything even after realising this.
Well, to me, Yamauchi's family is a bunch of strangers at best.
That's why, laying low would be my goal for the time being, whatever happens, happens.
With that being said, I am currently, walking around the mall, as I used to do.
Also, right now, my balance has dipped down straight to 0 private points.
As, private points would be transferred to us on the 1st of April, I have to wait for a few more days, to buy whatever I want.
For now, I would savor this condition of a penniless, wandering student at night, with countless stars above my head.
Then, I noticed the vendor machine, and a bench near it.
After taking a seat, I looked at the starry sky, with a full moon at the center.
I blurted out the sentence, I always wanted to say someday.
"The moon is beautiful. "
Indeed it is.
First years would be promoted to second years.
The current thrird years would graduate very soon.
And, after that a new chapter would begin.
Would that new chapter be favorable for me or not, only the Gods residing on that beautiful moon would know.
