Chapter 1 - NEYMAR JR.

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior known as Neymar jr,was born on 5 February 1992 at Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil.

Yes,Yes he was born at 5th February, the 5th of February might be the biggest good luck charm when it comes to football, from Cesare Maldini to Gheorghe Hagi, Tevez and even Ronaldo(cr7), it almost seems that if you' re born on that date, you're bound to become a footballer.

Neymar started his career at Santos, where he made his professional debut aged 17. Soon becoming the Brazilian league star player, he won the 2011 Copa Libertadores, being Santos' first since 1963. He was named the South American Footballer of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

He is not like other youngsters who look good or have potential he is beast world knows whenever he comes to European football he is going to be successful but the question is can he be the next Ronaldinho, can he lead the Brazil side or can he be at the level of Messi or Ronaldo.

• THE BARCELONA'S FAIRYTALE :

Neymar jr joined FC Barcelona On 24 May 2013 with loads of expectations on a five year deal. He was presented at the Camp Nou in front of 56,500 fans, a record turnout for a Brazilian player.

Neymar made his competitive debut for Barcelona during the opening game of the 2013–14 La Liga season as a 63rd-minute substitute for Alexis Sánchez in a 7–0 win against Levante. On 21 August, he scored his first competitive goal for the club in the first leg of the 2013 Supercopa de España against Atlético Madrid. His first season was not as expected but after Suarez joined Barcelona in 2014 there was a great love triangle of MESSI-SUAREZ-NEYAMAR(MSN). According to the world of football it is the best attacking trio who ever played together in one team. They played 3 seasons together and won 9 titles. They lifted the Champions League, the Club World Cup, two La Liga titles, a UEFA Super Cup, a Supercopa De Espana and three Copa del Rey.

As an individual he was directly involved in 164 goals in 186 appearances (105 goals, 59 assists), and in his final season in Spain, Neymar was the only player in Europe's top five leagues to record 20 or more for both goals (20) and assists (21) in all competitions.

At barcelona he achieved that tag ,world class or one of the best in the world. He was admired and loved by fans here.everytging going well he won champions league here laliga title and many more titles and in barca everyone thought he was Messi's successor and next ballon d'or winner for the club but.....

• THE PSG'S HOWLER :

On 3 August 2017, Barcelona announced that Neymar's legal representatives made a payment of €222 million to the club, equal to the release clause of his contract, which constituted the most expensive transfer ever.

Neymar joined French club Paris Saint-Germain on a contract that would run until 2022. He was offered the number 10 jersey by Javier Pastore as a "welcome gift".

• So why did Neymar leave Barcelona?

• Why did he go to PSG?

• How do you feel about Neymar leaving Barcelona for PSG?

Being a big Barcelona fan I'll answer this

From the perspective of Neymar,

I'm not generalizing here but if I would be neymar, I'll be happy. It's because:

1.Ambitions:

Everyone has some ambitions. Some set them high, some low. If I'm as talented as neymar I would definitely want a ballon d'or. It's the highest individual award . And being in Barcelona , it'll be really difficult because of Messi's presence. Messi is the God of Barcelona. He'll always take penalties and free kicks and he'll always take the center stage in the ground. If he's in PSG he still has to fight ridiculously hard for that trophy to take it from Ronaldo and Messi, but the odds increase much more than when he was in Barcelona.

2. Living under Messi shadow:

As I said Messi is the God of Barcelona and neymar will always play the second fiddle till Messi retires.A perfect example is 6–1 victory over PSG. Everybody knows neymar was the main architect of that victory but in the next day the newspaper showed Messi to the headlines.

And this will always continue till the GOAT retires. A player of neymar Calibre will always want to be the main man and he'll never play a second fiddle all through his Career.

3. Money

Money freaking matters. Those who say it doesn't matter, give it to me.

At Barcelona he made $15 million in salary and bonus . Combined with the $22 million he made in endorsements from the likes of Nike, Gillette, and Panasonic among others, he ranked No. 3 among the world's highest paid soccer players with total earnings of $37 million last year.

Now this move could see his total earnings skyrocket to $93 million, and could propel him ahead of teammate and record 5-time FIFA player of the year Lionel Messi, who earned $80 million last season, and possibly ahead of reigning and 4-time player of the year Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo who earned $93 million.

I don't know about neymar but any person with a little bit of brain will not let go of an opportunity with an increment in his salary by $56 million dollars.

4. Personal legacy:

This was one critical point. There are many talks about how he chose money over trophies and legacy in my opinion he made a mistake , he had Messi with him ,he was playing in the biggest club in the world and boom...

And now , "In my opinion, that was a mistake, because a World Cup was coming up and, if he wanted to be number one" [the best player in the world], being at Barca he could achieve it faster than being at PSG, with all due respect to them.

•BRAZIL:

On 26 July 2010, Neymar was selected for the first time in the Brazil senior team. On 10 August 2010 he made his debut with the national team in that game, aged 18 years old, starting the match and wearing the number 11 jersey. He scored on his debut after 28 minutes, a header coming from an André Santos cross in a 2–0 win for Brazil. He scored 77 goals and gave 56 assists for Brazil till date(5th aug 2023).

• There is still lots to talk about but lets sum up this in my words,

One of the greatest to step up on the football pitch, with his unreal skills and talent he gets passed through anyone like everyone. Not even the goalkeeper stands a chance. Talk about character he got some great and cool content there, always spirited, a complete package. Weak foot? Well not even Gods talk about it because it doesn't exist here in Neymar's world. When he dribbles, his pace is unmatched.. simply he's unstoppable.. hundreds of defenders from top leagues have been humiliated by this man. Watching him is so smooth and clear like a sky. Always up to something & unmatched in ability. Unrealistic yet fruitful.

What makes Neymar an Neymar? Many would see him as the God of Indulgence, of Gluttony, and of Exuberance. But Neymar's divine domain is different: it's the one of flair, of beating players, of putting on a show. Perhaps he is the God of Extravagance.

He is magnetic. There is an allure about him that no other footballer on the planet possesses. Watching him play is an exhibition as much as it is a competition. He's just… So. Much. Fun.

He also has everything that modern football entails.

The glitz. The glamour. The money. Stardom. The superficiality. That fun? That magnetism? That's modern football. Bemoaned as it may be, football has become about brands, and the most successful brand of all is that of Neymar.

Neymar as a football player when he is fully fit no one is better than him I said no one not even Messi and Ronaldo.Yes 'fully fit', he is a player who has one of the worst injury records i say, he misses almost 40% of Matches just because of his injuries in one season.Well it's different topic but injury was also a big reason why he is still not considered as a GOAT of football maybe.

As mentioned earlier, Neymar is all about glamour, fame and stardom. With all of these, one thing also included, that is discipline, and he is not one of the most disciplined guys in the team and, as a football player, you need to be disciplined. He is a guy who is just partying all around(haha),yes it's true.

That's why some people hate him or do not consider him as one of the best,

Yes, I agree, but'off the field'. On the field Neymar, as a player. As a football player, he is still one of the best at the age of 31.

Neymar, with injuries, controversies, hate, criticism and with everything, is still a good player, but the question is, does he live up to everyone's expectations? I said NO when he was at Barcelona he was compared with Ronaldo and Messi and, according to some football experts and critics, he had the capability or the talent to surpass them, but he doesn't live up to expectations.

As a Barca fan, I love him. Yes, he left the club in bad manners, but he is still a legend for us. Yes, he is a prince for us and for the world.

He had that potential to become king, but what he lacks is maybe the approach or maybe God's will ?

I'm about to end my story here, but I listen to one news story from Fabrizio Romano: "NEYMAR JR TO AL HILAL HERE WE GO. Man, at the age of 31, leaves European football. Once again, he chooses money over anything. There is a chance of him coming back to Barca or going to any other team, but he chooses to go to Saudi Arabia for money. I don't want to put how many millions he is going to earn there; to be honest, I don't care. The biggest L in football and in his career, in my opinion, he still has that flare and glamour to play at the top level, but he chooses money WOW.So it's officially over. Maybe he will never be able to win Ballon d'Or now. [The best player in football history who never won Ballon d'Or].In my opinion he still had a lot to give a football,it's really heart breaking.

So this is the story of the Brazilian prince, Barcelona's prince, and PSG's prince who never became king. There are still so many things left about him, about his personal life, and many more, but maybe on any other day. Till then, let me leave, and if you're reading this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
