At an apartment building, a woman and her son were hastily preparing for their day. Afterward, the woman went to her room packed a rather large suitcase, closed it then changed. She then went to check on her son. Not wanting his mother to see that he was half finished, he kicked the door slamming it shut. The woman arrived at the door to the son's room and then knocked. "Are you almost done?" she asked. He slightly opened the door and then stood in front of it obstructing the view inside. He held up his index finger indicating that he needed a little more time.
"Okay, but hurry and finish up." the woman stated then walked away. The boy opened his suitcase then quickly emptied each drawer from his dresser into it and slammed it continuously until it closed.
A car pulled up to the driveway and then honked. "Son, the taxi is here, I'll be waiting inside," she said. The boy slipped on his jacket, grabbed the suitcase then walked out the door and into the car which reversed then drove off soon after.
The boy peered through the car's window the entire journey appearing to be lost in thought. A while later they arrived at the airport then rushed inside wheeling their suitcases beside them.
Once there the two entered the holding area Both the woman and the boy entered the holding area, took seats then put down their luggage. The boy held his head down as if worried. "We're halfway done; once we are on that plane you will feel better." The woman reassured. The boy slowly nodded in agreement. "Numbers 82 and 87 proceed to the Boarding Area." said a man over the P.A. system. The two joined up with the other passengers and walked across the bridge into the plane.
They took their seats and then buckled in then the plane lifted off a few minutes later. The boy turned to his mother "Why couldn't we bring him?" he asked with hand gestures. "You know why we can't. Don't throw away this chance he provided," she stated in a low voice. "Understood, I will behave now." The boy gestured then turned to the window and stared into the clouds then fell asleep.
Later that same evening, the plane landed at another airport and all the passengers disembarked including the lady and her son. "It's time to get up." said the woman as she gently tapped the boy's cheek which woke him up. He looked around to see that he was already out of the airport and inside a car. "How did I get here?" The boy gestured. "Well, I –" she started to explain then the boy fell back to sleep.
After driving for a while the group arrived at a house. It was a white, old-style Asian home with blue roof tiles. It also had an Asian Pear tree in the yard. The woman stared at the building and said "Still looks good." They unloaded the luggage from the car and brought them inside. The man from the car took The boy and helped him to his bed with the woman following with his suitcase.
"Let us leave him to rest." said the man then they both quietly exited the room and slowly closed the door.
