Elena watched the princess, panting as she tried to catch her breath. She realized as long as the princess used a combat weapon, her chances of winning were low.
Fire was better used for long range fighting, you needed space and time to aim and release the flames, you also needed time to let the flames build up intransitive. Knives on the other hand were close combat weapons and the princess would always try to get as close as possible during their fight.
Elena knew she had two choices, constantly run back to maintain the distance between them so she could use her flames properly or bring out her own knives and fight short distance.
The princess didn't seem like she would let Elena maintain wide distances between her constantly. Besides, if she did, she had shown that she was quite agile and could avoid the fire blasts.
Elena knew she could improve the quality of her attacks, make her flames burn hotter or make it spread wider and normally she would have done those things but such modifications cost energy, something she didn't have much of at the moment.
Her energy level was dangerously low and she could feel it, it took a lot just for her to stand and fight the princess. Improving her flames was not a viable option therefore.
The other option, switching to short distance combat herself was the only possible option then, Elena reached in her clothes and brought out her knives.
"I've been going easy on you", She teased the princess and flashed her knives. "Time to be serious".
Something like rage clouded Neesha's face and she snarled, showing her fangs, then she attacked Elena.
Elena had her own knives now so it was easier for her to block the attacks and return hers. The two women went blow for blow, slash for slash, block for block as they dueled furiously.
Neesha suddenly realized she wasn't able to beat Elena with mere weapons, she bared her fangs and sunk it in her neck.
Elena didn't see the bite coming so she couldn't block it or avoid it, the princess' fangs sank into her neck.
"Ahhhh!", Elena yelled and as the pain shot through her body, she jerked her right hand and drove the knife into the princess' heart.
Neesha pulled back hastily as pain spread through her heart, her fangs dripped blood on her clothes as she looked down at her stabbed chest in confusion.
Elena had been trained in combat since the day she was turned six. She had been sent on her first mission at the age of ten and was used to a life of killing, she knew exactly where the heart was and how to stab it directly, to avoid hitting the ribs. The knife buried itself directly in the princess' heart.
Stunned, the princess dropped to her knees, clutching at the knife but unable to draw it out. She stared at Elena with a mixture of fury and surprise as she felt the life began to drain out of her.
Elena panted as she watched the life bleed out of the princess slowly. She walked up to the kneeling princess and watched her with disgust, then.
Crackkk!
The sound of broken bone resounded through the room as Elena drove her feet into Neesha's jaw in a powerful kick. The princess felt back to the ground and didn't move.
Elena didn't have time to gloat, she immediately walked out the door and started looking for Haze.

[Removing substance, 20% done]
Haze's eyes began to open slowly, a sharp headache rocked his head when he tried to move his body so he laid there motionless.
He was confused. Why was he on the ground? What had happened?
[Removing substance, 50% complete]
Haze's vision became slightly clearer and the headache reduced, that was when he became aware of the aches in his arms and chest.
He looked down and saw a massive shadow spear sticking out of his chest, the memories of the past hour flooded back in a painful rush. He had been fighting the queen of witches, then she began to stab him repeatedly, then she stabbed his heart, killing him.
A low buzz went off in his head, no, not killed, he reasoned, she tried to kill him but unfortunately for her (and himself), he was immortal.
[Removing substance, 70% complete]
Haze blinked at the message on the screen, the shadow was poisonous to his system, perhaps that was why she had left it in him, to keep him unconscious forever.
A sudden flash of rage spread through him. He would kill her, even if it took him all his life, he would find the queen of witches and snuff the life out of her with his own hands.

[Substance removed]
The shadow spear dropped to the ground as it was expelled from his chest, Haze groaned in agony at the pain.
[Hp low, initiating healing]
Haze scowled, how long did he have to be here to repair all the damage that had been done to him?
A warm feeling of relief suddenly spread through his body, he could feel his wounds tingle as they closed up. The warm feeling persisted for a few minutes then it was replaced with a cold feeling and Haze shivered.
[Healing complete]
[Would you like to see your profile]
Haze nodded. Show me my profile. He said, his voice sounded foreign to him, it was raspy and hoarse.
I suppose that's expected when you just crossed back from the threshold of death. He thought to himself.

Haze looked at his profile and nodded satisfactorily, his Hp had increased to 8, he had enough strength to resume his mission now.
[Exp has exceeded its limit, do you want to level up]
"Level up?", Haze said out loud in confusion, what did that leveling up mean? He looked at the system and saw that his Exp was 100/100.
'So when the Exp becomes full, I increase my level instantly', He thought to himself. 'And my Exp only increases when I complete missions'.
He suddenly regretted not completing the mission of defeating the queen of witches, he would have 10 more Exp right now if he did.
"Yes, level up", Haze chose.
