"Daddy, I am not going to school today," Leila said, clearing her throat and carefully peering at her father's reaction.
Ramon was about to go to work, but he already knew before she even said it since she wasn't wearing her school uniform.
He tilted his head, and just as Leila was about to say "I am just kidding," he nodded.
"I will help you take leave from your teacher, but make sure to be careful. If you need anything, call me."
Leila blinked in surprise before nodding. "Okay, Daddy! Bye, take care at work, don't overwork yourself!"
"You too." His lips curled up into a rare smile as he ruffled her hair and entered the car. After he was gone, Leila asked the other chauffeur to take her to Arni Street.
The chauffeur was the same man who had insisted that without seeing Julianne, he wouldn't leave, but he had probably heard about what happened from the other servants at home and now treaded carefully.
