I decided to part ways with the two. I wanted to give them their own time and I was tired of feeling some kind of way, and after the conversation we had held with Jade, this was not the time to be a third wheel; I could find things to do.
Window shopping sounded a little bit better than their company. Maybe I might pick up something for my mother when I go home this weekend, and the kids too; the responsible spirit in me. I took a cab to town to go through shops deciding what to get everyone. It had been a while for me to show face, but when I showed up with gifts, all the questions will be toned down a notch and attention would be off me.
It was hours later when a cab dropped me at my place hands full of carrier bags. I was done buying unnecessary things and looking forward to my evening. To say I was excited was an understatement; I had to get ready for the date with Rahim.
