Scandalous
I wanted to escape the whole party. I was tired of the repeated questions, "are you seeing someone?"
"How is the life in the city, anyone special?"
"It has been a long time, you got someone, a kid?"
Gosh couldn't they give her a break and enjoy the refreshments and the beautiful scenery my mother had prepared instead of poking on her daughter's life. As I was rushing away from the Mwajuma boys Zakari intercepted me, thank goodness.
"I saw you with the Mwajuma's…."
"Yes," he was giving me a peculiar look, what else does he want me to say.
"How was it meeting them after you know,…"
"Oh, it is cool."
"and I saw Rahim with a woman…"
"I did too I was there."
"You okay?"
"Yeah, it isn't a big deal, it is not that we are an item or have come out to the families." I say brushing it off. Actually I was okay, I just needed to be out of here though.
