The sun had set and it was time to go home. I had spent my afternoon lounging and thinking over my life, that had turned to shit. Things have their way of happening that I can't explain and I didn't like it.
Going back to the house, I felt nostalgic—empty inside. This has been my home for the last three years, but today my energy was off, and afraid it would infiltrate the house. It is my only remaining haven, and I did not want to taint it.
A stroll and a late supper sounded okay; maybe that might bring my mood back. Picking up a black hooded coat by the hanger, it was long enough to cover my ankles, and flowery neon pumps with a bubble feather on top for my feet and locked the door behind me.
