Chapter 54
As the first rays of sunlight streamed through the window, Ethan stirred awake, instinctively drawn to the comforting aroma of coffee wafting through the air. He blinked away the remnants of sleep to find Katarine, dressed casually, carefully placing the last cup of instant coffee on their small, cluttered table. The sight of her radiant smile brightened his morning instantly, and she beckoned him to join her for a simple breakfast.
"Come on, let's have breakfast. I am super hungry, unlike you!" she teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Ethan raised an eyebrow, amused yet slightly defensive. "What do you mean, unlike me?" he shot back, already anticipating her playful banter.
"My dear, you were eating like a savage beast last night; remember, my entire body still remembers that feeling while you were eating my pus,"
She said, a light laugh escaping her lips. He chuckled, feeling the warmth of their shared moments wrap around him like a cozy blanket.
"Wait, hold on, you don't need to say that,"
He replied, shaking his head in mock disapproval.
"I was just teasing you,"
she returned, a teasing grin still plastered on her face.
The conversation took a more serious turn when she boldly declared,
"Why can't we just get married so we can do this every night?"
He paused, the weight of unspoken reasons hanging in the air.
"You already know the reason, right?"
Ethan finally replied, his voice softer.
"I know," she insisted, not backing down, "but I really don't care what others say."
The conviction in her voice warmed his heart; it fortified the bond they shared, however precarious it might be.
"Anyway, I will wait patiently for you, Ethan, no matter what happens,"
She continued, determination shining in her gaze. With a gentle smile, she added,
"So you need to get your act together and register properly, right?"
The warmth of her presence enveloped him, and he appreciated her unwavering support.
"And I know you won't accept any help, but I took the liberty to get you another hoodie jacket. I know you never like exposing your private life to others."
She handed it to him with a playful glint in her eyes, reinforcing her belief in the importance of their bond.
. "But sooner or later, you have to, my dear Ethan,"
She urged softly.
Her words hung between them, inspiring hope.
"I will join you as soon as I can leave my responsibilities at the office to capable hands."
As she spoke, her enthusiasm bubbled over.
"As my future husband, I can't wait to stand beside you in front of everybody. I will scream your name, my dear Ethan, and show them how special you are."
In that moment, with the aroma of coffee mingling with the promise of a future together, Ethan felt a rush of emotions that transcended conversation, weaving a tapestry of love and anticipation for what lay ahead.
"I know, but I really don't care what others say."
She replied, her voice filled with a sincerity that tugged at his heartstrings.
Katarine smiled and sat on Ethan's lap as her soft feminine body frame was enveloped by his strong arms, creating a sense of security and belonging that they both cherished. The world faded away as they lost themselves in each other's gaze, knowing that their love was all that truly mattered.
Ethan accompanied Katarine as her driver was patiently waiting for her outside the warehouse. As she claimed into the car, Ethan gave Katarine a warm kiss and whispered, "I'll see you soon, my love." With a promise to reunite later that evening, Ethan watched as the car drove away, already counting down the minutes until they could be together again
After the wierd experience , Ethan wore an arm guard on both of his arms and hid them under the long sleeves of the tactical hoody jacket Katarine gave him as he went out and closed the warehouse and prepared to leave and go directly to the knight assessment facility. But even before he could even open the warehouse door, he heard a voice that made his entire body collapse.
"By the glory of thy name, he shall bring forth the convergence of worlds soon."
Ethan was inside a blank space; it was all white and seemed endless, and then suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his head, causing him to lose consciousness. When he woke up, he found himself lying on the ground as he felt something etched into his body. It wasn't that painful, but rather a very unpleasant feeling. As he raised his shirt, he saw a symbol he had never seen before, glowing faintly on his chest. Soon, the wound healed and just vanished.Ethan thought to himself as he tried to make sense of what had just happened.
"This world is getting weirder by the day."
