Chapter 1 - Chapter one

As the clock ticked down to her upcoming nuptials, Riyi paced nervously in the cozy upstairs room at the quaint Inn. The air was thick with anticipation as she awaited the moment when she would descend the stairs to meet her beloved fiancé. Despite her nerves, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and love for the man she was about to marry.

Her bridesmaids had just dashed out of the room, declaring that they would be back soon with a bottle of liquor. Their laughter echoed through the halls, adding to the festive atmosphere. As Riyi continued to pace, she couldn't help but wonder what kind of life she and her husband-to-be would share together.

Riyi stood alone in the cozy upstairs room, she couldn't help but feel a sense of isolation from the chaos happening around her. Her maid of honor, Lou, was dealing with yet another crisis with her boyfriend in the room across the hall, their muffled voices audible through the thin walls.

Riyi glanced out the window and saw the sea of guests, already seated in rows of white folding chairs on the lawn. The officiant and four dapper men in black tuxedos stood at the front, ready to begin the ceremony. Despite the chaos and uncertainty surrounding her, Riyi couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and happiness as she basked in the warm sunlight streaming through the window.

Riyi stepped away from the window, she couldn't help but reflect on her relationship with her fiancé, Desmón. They had met on a cruise in Valos city eight months ago, and despite his boring demeanor, she had grown to love him. Their love life wasn't exactly thrilling, but he was kind, and that was what mattered most to her.

She glanced at herself in the tall mirror once again, taking in her stunning wedding dress. The pure white gown was adorned with hundreds of tiny sequins and delicate lace trim, making her look like a princess straight out of a fairy tale. She pulled her veil down, peering at herself through the mesh fabric.

Riyi adjusted her dress, ensuring her ample cleavage was on display while still looking tasteful enough for a church wedding, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The alterations had been a challenge, but it was worth it. Those lace gloves were her favorite accessory, adding an elegant touch to her overall look.

When she heard the knock at the door, she turned around with anticipation, only to be taken aback by the sight of her ex-boyfriend, Lance, standing in the doorway. His smile lit up the room, and for a moment, they stared at each other in silence.

"Oh my God, Riyi," he exclaimed, "you look absolutely stunning!" His words sent a shiver down her spine, and she couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions. She had always been attracted to Lance's charm and charisma, but she had never expected to see him here.

Riyi's heart started racing as she realized the significance of Lance's presence on her wedding day. They had shared a passionate love affair in the past, but she had chosen not to invite him to the wedding, even though they remained friends. She had chosen to move on and marry Desmón. It was only at her fiancé's insistence that they had sent him an invitation.

She glanced at him again, those old feelings began to resurface, and she didn't need that right now, especially not on her wedding day. She forced a smile, trying to play it cool. "Hey, Lance," she replied, her voice slightly shaky. "Gotta say, you're looking pretty dapper in that tux."

"Thanks, Riyi," he replied, his voice laced with an undertone of sadness. "It's good to see you too." The tension between them was palpable, and Riyi couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen.

As Lance closed the door behind him, he walked towards Riyi, placing his hands gently on her shoulders. "I never could have imagined how stunning you'd look until now," he said, his eyes scanning her up and down. His words sent a shiver down her spine, and she couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions.

"Lance, you're being sweet, but you can't be in here," she replied, lifting her veil up and off her face. The tension between them was thick, and they both knew that something was about to happen.

"I know," he said, his voice low and raspy. "But I needed to see you one last time before you walked down that aisle." His eyes met hers, and for a moment, they stood there, locked in a heated gaze.

Riyi couldn't help but feel a little flattered by Lance's words, despite knowing they were just part of his charm. However, she also couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. "You already know what you're missing, Lance," she replied, trying to maintain her composure.

His eyes widened slightly at her comment, and for a moment, they stood there in silence. Then, without thinking, Riyi blurted out, "You've seen me naked like a hundred times, remember?" The words hung in the air between them, and she instantly regretted them. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she realized what she had just said.

As Lance smirked at her response, Riyi couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. His crooked smile always had a way of making her heart skip a beat. "A thousand times," he replied, "but who's counting?"

She laughed, feeling officially embarrassed. "Okay, I'm blushing now!" she said with a smile. "But seriously, you should go."

Despite her words, there was something about Lance that made it hard for her to resist him. He was charming, handsome, and they shared a deep connection. But she knew that she was making the right choice by marrying Desmón.

When Lance suggested giving her a big hug, she hesitated for a moment. However, she eventually gave in and let him embrace her. He held her tightly, and she nestled her face against his shoulder. The warmth of his body and the familiar scent of his cologne sent shivers down her spine.

As they stood there, locked in an embrace, Riyi knew that this moment would be one of many memories she would carry with her for the rest of her life.

Riyi gazed up at Lance, her heart racing as she stood in her beautiful wedding gown. She felt the warmth of his hand on her cheek, but she knew she had to step back. Holding his hands tightly, she looked him in the eyes and said, "I'll always care about you, Lance, but you have to go now. It's risky seeing my ex before the wedding."

With a stern glare, she expected him to understand and leave. However, he seemed to beat her to the punch. "I've always been curious about what lies underneath a bride's dress," he said, his words lingering in the air.
