Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Mysteries of the Loks and Unexpected News

Sam settled into his favorite reading chair, the ancient tome titled "What I Know About the Loks" resting on his lap. The leather-bound book crackled softly as he turned the pages. Flip...flip...

"This is fascinating," Sam murmured, eyes scanning the meticulously handwritten text. The book detailed the origins and nature of the Loks, realms of extraordinary power and mystery.

"Loks were not the creations of man," the book stated. "They were naturally occurring phenomena, vast realms that existed long before any human attempted to control them."

Sam's brow furrowed as he continued reading. The text explained how individuals like Pushp Raj managed to harness the power of a Lok, a feat requiring immense skill and understanding. "Pushp Raj was one such individual who succeeded in controlling a Natural Lok, transforming it into a source of immense power and resources."

He turned another page. Flip...

The book then delved into the attempts to create artificial Loks. "Many tried to replicate the natural Loks, yielding impressive results. However, these artificial creations lacked the self-sustaining and growing abilities inherent in natural Loks."

Sam paused, tapping his pen against the book's edge. "So, the natural Loks have unlimited potential for growth, while the artificial ones are limited," he mused.

Flip...flip...

The narrative continued, detailing the various experiments and their ultimate failures. "Despite the remarkable achievements, the inability to replicate the self-sustaining nature of the natural Loks rendered the artificial ones inferior, though still a testament to human ingenuity."

Sam closed the book, his mind buzzing with new insights. Just as he was about to jot down some notes, his phone buzzed on the table. Bzzz...bzzz...

Glancing at the screen, he saw the name "Headhunter Manager." He recalled their previous conversation about recruiting teachers for his ambitious school project.

"Hello?" Sam answered.

"Mr. Sam, this is the headhunter you hired," the manager's voice crackled through the speaker. "I'm pleased to inform you that we've successfully recruited about 100 teachers for your schools."

Sam's face lit up. "That's fantastic news! Tell me more."

"We've offered them double their current salaries, as you suggested," the manager explained. "Each teacher has been meticulously screened to meet your criteria. They are dedicated to education, capable of working in challenging conditions, and possess excellent work ethics and charisma."

"Great work," Sam replied, gratitude evident in his voice. "I appreciate the effort you've put into this."

"It was my pleasure, Mr. Sam. Is there anything else you need?"

"No, that's all for now. Thank you again."

After ending the call, Sam leaned back in his chair, feeling a sense of accomplishment. Things were progressing well on Earth, but his thoughts drifted back to Maha Lok.

In Maha Lok, Nitin had been busy ensuring the safety of the two women he had hidden. They were secure for now, but the looming threat of Roy and his father, the Lord of Durinia, was never far from his mind.

Durinia was a complex town with a well-structured hierarchy. At the top was Roy's father, the Lord of Durinia. Below him were two main departments: the Military Officers Department and the Civil Officers Department.

The Civil Officers Department was responsible for managing the town's day-to-day affairs, from infrastructure to public welfare. They oversaw the markets, maintained the roads, and ensured that the basic needs of the citizens were met.

The Military Officers Department, on the other hand, was dedicated to protecting Durinia. They managed the town's defenses, trained soldiers, and guarded the town's four walls—East, West, South, and North. Each wall had a designated leader, known as the Lord of the East/West/South/North Wall, responsible for the security of their respective sections.

Nitin, a medium-ranked officer, had been given command of one of these walls. He stood on the East Wall, his gaze sweeping the horizon, lost in thoughts about protecting the two women from Roy's wrath.

Suddenly, the sound of marching footsteps jolted him from his reverie. Thump...thump...thump... A group of military law enforcement officers approached, their expressions grim.

"Nitin," the lead officer announced, "we have an arrest order for you on the grounds of traitorous actions."

Nitin's heart sank. "Traitorous actions? What are you talking about?"

"You are accused of conspiring against the Lord of Durinia," the officer stated flatly. "You are to come with us immediately."

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Nitin sent a quick, urgent message to Pushp. Message Sent.

As the officers led him away, Nitin's mind raced. He had to find a way to protect the women and clear his name.

Back on Earth, Sam was wrapping up his plans when a sudden message flashed across his mind. It was Pushp, relaying an urgent message from Nitin.

"Sam, Nitin has been arrested."

Sam's heart skipped a beat. "Arrested? For what?"

"The message didn't specify the details, but it seems serious," Pushp's voice echoed in his mind.

Sam felt a cold chill run down his spine. Nitin's arrest could jeopardize everything. He needed to act quickly, but the path forward was uncertain.

"What should I do?" Sam thought, his mind racing with possibilities.
