The smooth floor tiles became the first barrier hindering the horde of corpses.
Soon, a zombie fell.
But its companions immediately stepped on its body.
Then came the second, the third; more and more zombies fell to the ground, at first glance resembling countless black and red insects writhing on the floor.
Yet, the sound from the cellphone continued to ring, luring the horde to clumsily tumble toward the exit.
When the few zombies at the very front finally reached the doorway, poking their heads out, the security guards who had been waiting outside swung down their baseball bats with force.
It was as if someone had suddenly flipped a switch.
The similarly built security guards kept repeating the same motion.
Swing the bat, smash down, swing the bat, smash down.
With each smash, brains splattered everywhere.
Soon, the glass doors were smeared with a mix of red and white fluids.
