But when Grand Duke Kunstan fell in battle, Lord Welchi naturally faced punishment and thus was stripped of his riding privileges for bipedal flying dragons by Red Castle. However, he did not sever the contract with the bipedal flying dragon, so he still possessed abundant dragon breath.
Being proficient in dragon language, he was one of the few Dragon Tongue Envoys recognized by the Shadowflame Dragon.
Moreover, when Grand Duke Kunstan perished in battle, Lord Welchi was assisting the Shadowflame Dragon in combat. It was hard to truly blame him for negligence, and since he had already been punished and received sympathy, he was able to smoothly take on the role of Volcanic Minister.
