Russell's title was that of an Earl, although many believed he was about to become a Dragon Knight, he had yet to actually become one.
So, King Ares did not receive Russell with grand ceremony in the Golden Palace.
He simply invited Russell privately to the Golden Palace for a casual gathering, to chat, and have dinner together.
"Russell, it's been a long time."
"Your Majesty, it's only been a year," replied Russell. It was just the start of the Warm Season last year when he killed Shuang Ge, and he had a rushed meeting with King Ares.
"A year's time is enough for much to occur, please have a seat." After inviting Russell to sit, King Ares said, "You wrote to me, suggesting that I build observatories to watch the stars, and I've built fifty of them across the kingdom."
Russell did not keep the technology of the astronomical telescope to himself; he shared it directly with King Ares.
