As Sun Jack's consciousness overlaid another of his clone bodies, he still hadn't forgotten the sensation of his body shattering just moments before.
Sun Jack, still shaken, looked at the space station outside the window. "What kind of weapon is this? Not only is its attack range so far, but its power is also immense."
It was such a close call; if he hadn't been constantly connected to the other Clone Sun Jacks, noticing something awry and immediately overlaying his consciousness, he would have truly been gone just then.
At that moment, with the nuclear bomb destroyed, the entire space station slowly awoke like a hibernating beast. Sun Jack's system sent frantic alarms, indicating he'd been locked on.
The whole space station began to transform, unfolding rapidly, its size expanding more than thrice what it had been before. Various automated defense weapons, both familiar and alien to Sun Jack, gradually extended from the steel machinery.
"Attack!!" With Sun Jack's roar, a bright laser from the Sky-base Weapon struck the energy shield.
All the combat units flew out from the spacecraft carrier, like moths to a flame, launching an attack on the colossal mechanical unit before them.
Leading the charge were minuscule nanoworms capable of devouring all energy and metal.
However, the moment the nanoworms made contact, the space station's defense grid activated instantly. The light blue energy shield turned orange-red, and many nanoworms were burned by the high-temperature energy before they could begin to consume electricity. The remaining were forced to change direction, unable to penetrate further.
At the same time, the space station's automated defense turrets began high-speed operation, with dense electromagnetic pulse bombs and particle beam weapons, locking onto and furiously attacking the surrounding spacecraft carriers.
Simultaneously, various stealth drones flew out from within the space station, bypassing the frontal battlefield for a stealth attack from the sides.
If Sun Jack hadn't detected them right away, they would have been in trouble.
"Tapai, find a way to break through the energy shield!! I want to go in!" As a fully armed Clone Sun Jack approached the shield, an intense wave of nausea surged within him, causing dizziness and loss of control over his body.
Sensing Sun Jack's loss of control, smart projectiles rapidly changed direction, heading straight for him.
Just when Sun Jack was about to be hit, a fighter jet zoomed past, blocking all attacks for him.
It was at this moment that Tapai, controlling a mechanical arm, grabbed Sun Jack and brought him directly inside the spacecraft.
Tapai turned to look at Sun Jack beside him, "Don't let your clones get close to that thing, it's completely enveloped in a layer of pulse waves of a specific frequency, designed to disrupt normal brain function."
"Why are there so many new gadgets?" Sun Jack asked with furrowed brows.
"No idea, maybe they're from The Previous Era. In any case, there are no matching models in Earth's current data banks."
Upon hearing this, Sun Jack shook his head and, controlling the Sky-base Weapon outside, aimed directly at the energy shield and fired a shot. "Got any way to handle it?"
"I'm trying to hack in, but it's not easy. I've never seen this type of firewall before."
Sun Jack observed the chaos before him, ready to seek outside help. While he was fighting for his life here, others were just spectating from below, something he couldn't just let slide.
"Help, I've opened up the network port for you!" Sun Jack sent a message to the Overlapping AI, none too pleased.
But luckily, in this situation, the Overlapping AI didn't make a big deal out of it and immediately indicated that someone would be sent over.
"Don't worry, they've already started taking action through our network," Tapai said, sending an interface to Sun Jack.
In the twisted Cyber Space, a two-dimensional AI girl in a micro-miniskirt raised her Magic Wand high and shouted, "Nana chan! Minasan~~! See the network ahead 02314? It's not us who are wrong! It's the whole world! Charge~~!! Come and create a two-dimensional future with me!"
Then Sun Jack saw various cartoon avatars quickly joining the fray, so numerous that even the network began to stutter a bit.
"Nana, I'm your dog!! I can do anything for you!!"
"Charge!! Destroy this pretentious world completely! The future belongs to the two-dimensional!!!"
Quickly, a group of two-dimensional hackers led by the two-dimensional AI beauty, using the spacecraft as a springboard, began to incessantly attack the firewall of the space station in front of them.
Sun Jack couldn't help but clench his teeth as he watched the scene unfold; though these guys were helping him, the spectacle still made him burst out with an expletive. "Damn, two-dimensional really is freaking abstract!"
"You can rest for now, leave everything to me. You going solo won't do much in this situation. Once we break through the Energy Shield, then it's time for your Clone to step in."
As Sun Jack was observing the chaos before him, a sudden urgent system alert sounded. Glancing at the system interface, he realized it was the Poet, whom he hadn't heard from in a while.
"Hey? What's up? I'm really busy right now, so spit it out!" Sun Jack said, glancing at the situation outside.
"You told me to go undercover at FFP to gather intel, right? I've got some news on Lan Meng," the Poet said nervously.
At that, Sun Jack was taken aback, "Out with it, do I have to play straight man to your jokes?"
"I found out that, ah, Lan Meng has some really strange fetishes! Impressive, right?"
Hearing this, Sun Jack's temper flared, "Are you fucking serious? I ask you for intel, and you bring me gossip? Do you have any idea how desperate my situation is right now?!"
Seeing Sun Jack angry, the Poet quickly waved his hands in denial, "No, no! This fetish is different! His fetish is like yours, he likes driving big vehicles! I think there might be some misunderstanding?"
"You're the one who likes driving big vehicles! Waste more of my time, and see if I don't report you directly to FFP?" Sun Jack said, ready to close the communication, having had enough of this person.
"Wait, wait, wait! I've got another piece of intel! Something very important!" the Poet quickly shouted to stop Sun Jack.
"What else do you have to say, spit it out!"
"Well, about Lan Meng, it's said that he's also a two-dimensional. When he first started his company, an AI company, the reason he created it was to make himself a wife."
"Get to the damn point!"
"He likes robots, and he likes driving big vehicles, don't you think... don't you see any connection between the two?" the Poet said, his eyebrows nearly wiggling with implication.
