Sun Jack furrowed his brows as he gazed at the head before him—it was the head of a Song Ling Puppet.
"Are you sure her real body is truly dead?" Sun Jack asked again.
"I'm certain; she committed suicide decisively, and there are no records deleted from the data, it was all traceable", Tapai explained from the side.
"So, what message did Lan Meng send her? To scare her to this extent, just because she failed to defeat me? That can't be it, right?" Sun Jack inquired.
As soon as he finished speaking, Tapai sent a message to Sun Jack's system, "Counterintelligence Unit 02 en route; please explain the failure of Plan 12."
Hearing this, Sun Jack's brows tightened even further. "Just this one sentence? Lan Meng said just this one sentence, and it drove a Holy Grail Person to suicide? Is this Plan 12 about me?"
"From what we can see, it does appear to be about you."
"Are you sure? That severe a punishment? Plus, I have another question."
Speaking, Sun Jack picked up the head and scrutinized it. "If she was pushed to this extent, why didn't she fight back? Why not download a Sun Jack?"
Sun Jack truly found it hard to imagine how someone he had known for so long could be so easily frightened to death by just one sentence from Lan Meng. How powerful was this Boss of FFP, Lan Meng?
Tapai shrugged his shoulders, "I wouldn't know about that; perhaps Lan Meng has a way to make people suffer even more than death."
Sun Jack thought it over and concluded that this must be the only explanation.
Just then, the office door was pushed open, and X walked in with a displeased expression. "You called me?"
"Sit down, I need to ask you something." Sun Jack gestured to the stool in front of him.
Once he saw X sit down and run his hand through his cobalt blue hair, sparking with arcs of electricity, Sun Jack began, "It's about Lan Meng, FFP's Boss."
"Lan Meng? Didn't I already tell you everything about him when I first came to recruit you?" X furrowed his brows.
"No, I need more details about him, the more detailed the better," Sun Jack said, placing the head in front of him.
Facing his ultimate enemy, although he had been interacting with his empire for some time now, Sun Jack realized he knew very little about him. He needed to learn more about the detailed aspects of his enemy.
"Lan Meng, male, a human who survived from The Previous Era, the Final Producer of FFP, capable of creating consumer markets with strong buying power, designing the inner and outer cityscapes for capital speculation - he was the first to design them," X recounted meticulously.
"I know all this already, tell me something I don't know, don't tell me that when the Mechanical Conservative Faction publicly and secretly competed with the DNA Innovation Faction, you did not send commercial spies to wrap up internal intelligence."
Sun Jack stared at X and spoke again, "Have you seen this? This is our enemy. Just one word from Lan Meng scared her into committing suicide. I want to know how he managed to do it."
Upon hearing this, X took a deep breath, fell silent for a moment, then said, "I really don't know. Lan Meng is a Final Producer; people of that rank have specialized information guards protecting them. It's impossible for ordinary people to know more about him."
Just as Sun Jack was about to open his mouth, X spoke again. "However, I have heard some online rumors, I'm not sure whether they are true or not. You judge for yourself; they are said to have come out of FF."
Saying this, he picked up the cigarette case on the table, Sun Jack's cigarette case, pulled out a cigarette, and took a puff. "I heard that long ago, Lan Meng hasn't seen his subordinates for hundreds of years. All his communications are through network transmission."
"No one knows what he looks like, nor does anyone know where he is now, nor are they aware of his current situation. I'm not sure if this is to avoid decapitation by rival capital or why, but indeed, there is very little information about Lan Meng online."
"Although he communicates only through the network, every decision Lan Meng makes is very decisive, always making the most accurate choice based on the situation at the time, without a single exception. A single message from him can initiate wars involving hundreds of millions of people, a single word from him can determine the fate of tens of millions," X said, his eyes faintly showing fear.
He then abruptly raised his head, looking at Sun Jack, "Now you understand why I initially advised you to surrender, I truly had your best interests in mind, didn't I? You can't defeat him. The two of you are simply not on the same level."
"Hmph," Sun Jack scoffed at X's words. "Wasn't I not on the same level as Holy Grail initially? Am I afraid of him?"
"You have no idea what you are up against," X said, standing up abruptly, "There are even rumors that as someone from The Previous Era, Lan Meng actually holds all the scientific and technological knowledge of The Previous Era."
"Although there is no evidence, if we look at the fast-paced technological development over these nearly 1000 years, several major technological breakthroughs have shadows of FFP lurking behind them, including this time's DNA enhancement technology!"
"In his eyes, you might be no different from a primitive person, and you still want to fight him? What based on? Based on your seizing London City?" X grew more agitated as he spoke, almost standing up at the end.
However, Sun Jack was not intimidated by X's words, "Hmph, if Lan Meng is so powerful, why would your Mechanical Conservative Faction still be combating the DNA Innovation Faction? Why not surrender?"
X suddenly widened his eyes, "We're different from you! We are merely in a benign competition over paths, no matter who wins or loses, after it's decided who is ahead and who's behind, we'll all share the pie together, it's only a matter of who gets more and who gets less. You, on the other hand, want to flip the whole table over!"
Sun Jack tapped his fingers on the hard tabletop, "Don't change the subject, I asked you why & would directly commit suicide."
Seeing that Sun Jack wasn't listening, X slumped back down onto his chair, speaking sullenly, "I don't know. FFP can expand so greatly, they certainly have their own set of operational mechanisms within their system, designed to efficiently control their employees along with the interests and company divisions so deeply intertwined within FFP."
"There were once attempts to bribe employees of FFP; those below salary level N5 were feasible, but once it exceeded N5, it was completely impenetrable. Haven't you noticed? As many awakened Sun Jack clones as there are, why isn't there a single one from the FFP group?"
Hearing X's narrative, Sun Jack grew more and more astonished. What kind of entity was he about to face?
But as Sun Jack looked out the window at the gradually repairing Himalayas, his gaze suddenly became resolute. Regardless of how powerful Lan Meng was, there was no turning back once the bow was drawn; he could never give up.
Sun Jack pulled out three data cables from behind his neck and directly plugged them into the system port on the side of Tapai's body.
"Go update the data downloaded by Sun Jack, make future downloads of Sun Jack try to penetrate as much as possible into FFP, my clones will try every means to figure out Lan Meng's bottom line, and clarify how he made & commit suicide."
